Just returned from a week's stay at the Hotel Falesia. On arrival you're greeted with a glass of bubbly and cases taken to your room by a lovely porter. Rooms are spotless, maybe a little dated, but we didn't go to stay in the room all day! Towels changed daily if you want. Must say hairdryers ARE dated and are a fixture on the bathroom wall!(900w - not great).
High room requested (4th floor, room 415), there is only a pool view and car park/mountain view - which is what we had and it gets no sun throughout the day. Clothes are difficult to dry on balcony.
Food is fabulous with something for everyone - champagne for breakfast, why not! Sit where you like at breakfast and evening meal. Dining room is huge.
Abundance of sunbeds around the pool and around the lush greenery of the gardens, so no need to rise early to claim a sunbed!!
Shuttle bus runs to the beach daily (this is free) and also to Albufeira (5 euros return) and Vilamoura (10 euros return). Visit Albufeira old town with its quaint shops and restaurants and Vilamoura, taking a walk around the beautiful marina - double up with sun cream it gets very hot!)
We watched one night's entertainment in hotel and were not impressed. A comedian who raked up old chestnuts -gave it a miss after that. Local bars only a short walk away, although hotel has a 'happy hour' from 5pm - 6pm at the poolside bar. Indoor pool gorgeous also has Jacuzzi and steam room.
An adults only hotel - age groups were quite mixed actually, there were a number of quite young couples but more 50 - 60 year olds and older. Nothing wrong with that, everyone enjoying themselves.
Fab week's holiday, will definitely return to this hotel again in the future. Highly recommended.
