We stayed here on a 'bed and breakfast' basis. The choice and quality of food was quite good though mainly geared towards the Germans. We found out much later that you could ask for bacon and eggs instead of the usual continental style.
The hotel was about the cleanest I've ever stayed in and even had antiseptic gel dispensers at the end of each corridor. It was relaxingly quiet, except the two nights when there was a bar-b-que/buffet evening, with LOUD music, on the sun-terrace till late(just above our room, and it would be the night we had to get up early next day for the plane).
Although the hotel had not got an outside pool, the indoor pool was empty 99% of the time......possibly because there were notices on the doors saying swimming hats MUST be worn. These were on sale at Reception at a cost of 5 Euros each. (having bought them, as my wife like to swim in a pool, we saw several people go in without swimming hats........and nothing was said by the staff.)
There was a Private set of steps down to the beach, which also became Private when the tide came in and cut off that small section.
It was a gentle 10 minutes stroll to Albufiera Old Town where there was an almost unending choice of Restaurants. These were generally quite expensive due to the

Hotel Alisios is to be found at the eastern end of Albufeira high on the cliffs, with rooms facing the ocean and rooms facing the main road. We opted for ocean view rooms which are really glorious - you can hear the waves lapping at night even with the balcony doors shut! NBaturally, ocean view rooms are more expensive - we paid an extra 30 euros a night for the privilege.
The hotel, both public areas and our room, is scrupulously clean.
The breakfast is buffet style with continental type food - rolls; cold meats; slices of different cheeses; fruit; cereals; yoghurts; cake; coffee, tea and juices. On the Sundy we were there, omelettes were cooked to order.
I would have given 5 out of 5 for location but for the fact that the hotel is up a very steep slope which may cause a few problems the elderly and the infirm. It is only a ten minute steady walk to the centre of town. The Strip, the tourist-geared street of restaurants, bars and gift shops, is only a few minutes car drive away.
The hotel staff are very polite and willing to do anything to make their guests stay a pleasant one.
There is entertainment three nights a week - a duo; a saxophonist and a man playing the organ during the BBQ evening. The music is pleasant and not intrusive if you wish to have an early night, although to be fair, we stayed on the top floor and had our patio door shut.
We would recommend this hotel to anyone and without a doubt it would be our top choice should we stay in Albufeira again.
