Location
Lovely staff and the First Choice Reps were great as my son had an accident and they arranged a Doctor within 10 minutes.
Restaurant food is very good, but a bit pricey. The entertainment was very poor and what little there was, was only on very late. No good for younger kids. Hotel shop was OK.
Hotel is quite close to the beach, just cross the road
and down the steps (very steep). The hotel across the road has a very good play area. We could have a meal while the kids played.

Everything about this hotel is clean and well presented, Not very close to the beach or nightlife but taxis are very cheap.
The hotel entertainment is diabolical no good for children in matter of fact no good for any one. Unless you like a late game of bingo and one night a week they do karaoke.
As for Portugal itself the place is beautiful. My family and I will be returning.

We were really pleased with the accomodation, it was very clean and very roomy.
We found all the staff that we met and spoke to, to be very friendly and helpful.
The pool was lovely and again very clean. It was busy and at times hard to find beds available with parasols but this is to be expected at this time of year. There were clean toilets and changing area near to the pool area too.
We found the kitchen in our apartment to be very well equipped too.
Location was good for us as it was away from all the noise of the town but still within walking distance. It was a bit of a walk to the strip but the more we did it the shorter it got! I would advise families etc to get a taxi or bus in warmer weather as even we found in hard and we are young and fairly fit.

The appartments are the biggest that we have ever stayed in. The kitchen is absolutely brill for an appartment-equipped with everything you need (and more). The bathroom was huge and the whole appartment was kept clean all weak with clean towels every day. Our appartment was situated at the back of the hotel and sported an absolutely brilliant view overlooking the sea.
There is a supermarket attached to the hotel albeit a little pricy. On the day of our arrival, we took a walk (to the right) out of the hotel to a big supermarket about 0 mins walk and bought loads of things for breakfasts etc-all at v. reasonable prices.
The pool area was great with loads of sunbeds(if you got down there at 8.30am!!!!) There is only one main pool and a kids one joined on to it.There is a poolside bar which is very dear which is also next to a kiosk, which sells your newspapers from back home.
The entertainment was the worst we have ever seen! Don't punish yourselves by even thinking about seeing what it is like.
The hotel itself is not near a thing!! You need to walk for about half an hour to the Strip which is mainly one big long road with restaurants and if you carry on walking up this, it leads to some shops. If you order a taxi from reception it is only 5 Euros-well recommended(especially in the heat!). Also take a taxi to the Old Town which has much better shops and restaurants than the Strip.
Overall, we could not fault the hotel. Shame about the location.

A useful supermarket is attached to the hotel.
A walk of about 25 mins to nearest bars and shops, but taxi fares are cheap, a taxi to the old town is about 5 euros.
You must visit "Wild & Co" THE best place by far to eat, contemporary decor, great service a real pleasure.
On the whole a pleasant relaxing time, would return.

Receptionists do appear abrupt but I'm led to believe that's their way but they are very helpful.
If you love karioke then you'll be at home here, unfortuantely it does go until 3am and if your room happens to be above the bar, albeit 3 floors up you will still hear the noise!
You need to fairly active and able-bodied to get around as the hotel is set on a hill. The beach is 10-15 minute stroll down a gentle hill - if you take the Maria Luisa road by BP garage.
Albufeira is a good 15 minute walk up and down hill, bear that in mind if pushing strollers etc but taxis are so cheap tho you must book them from hotel/restaurant and get one from taxi rank; you cannot hail them down on the road.
Pool area has beds/unbrellas/bar and kiddy pool. Water was "refreshing"!!
Can not comment on the restaurant as we didn't eat there. The supermarket was well-stocked and inexpensive.
Would defintely visit here again.

Even though we went self catering the hotel provided a great restaurant with a kids meanu too.
Entertainment was during the day and also at night and were very fun to go to.
The hotel is about 20 mins (walk) away from a mile and a half of shops and bars and restaurants, this makes it easy to shop and eat but is far enough away for no noise.
I found the swimming area very nice too and spent most of my time there as there is also an outside bar which sells drinks and snacks as well as playing music. The whole holiday was great fun and relaxing.
