The hotel was spotlessly clean and the rooms were extremely good. Breakfast consisted of everything you could dream of and was good standard.
The hotel position however is quite hard on the legs if you are not good at climbing steps and hills. We hired a car, just so we could go out and eat on a night time, the steps/hills were too much for us.
The main part of the resort is nothing to shout about and we stayed locally to the hotel most nights.
All in all, a lovely relaxing holiday in a lovely hotel.

Apartments Estrela Do Vau, Praia Do Vau Algarve.
Apartments were not clean, bed changed only twice (beds made to look if sheets were changed) toilet seat all split, glass door in bedroom broken (had to lift up & push along) if I had children I would not have stayed in that room.
For apartments that are classed as 4 star it did not live up to it. We are not folks to complain, but I find this was a big let down. Don't go if you don't have children.

Hotel was small up an incline to the west of this small town-the last hotel on the sweeping bay. Two nice pools-watch out for the saltwater though.
Many steps from the hotel directly onto a golden beach with close to rock stacks.
Hotel was exceptionally clean-maids were always about. Rooms had views overlooking gardens, water features then the Atlantic.
Breakfast was buffet style-all tastes catered for-English, German, Spanish, French,
Portugese.
Staff generally very helpful-poolside bar, large lounge, dining room, raised terrace.

Excellent hotel one the edge of the resort but with beautiful views of the large sandy bay. Only snag being about 80 steps down to the beach. The hotel staff were superb and very friendly, the food was excellent,we paid for evening meals and the hotel were running a very good offer. The room was quiet roomy, cleanliness throughout the hotel could not be faulted with an army of maids. Entertainment was somewhat low key but suited us, drinks were reasonable considering it was 4*. One of the best hotels we have stayed in on our travels around the meditteranean.
