We stayed here from the 16th - 23rd Aug 2007 Our ages were 49, 46, 18 and 15.
We had a large ground floor appartment which was very spacious. It was clean although a bit tired in places.
There are 2 lifts but do watch using them as others may be coming up the corridor.
The staff were helpful and friendly, what little we saw of them.
We had lots of kitchen eqipment but no grill nor toster, but we did have tea towels! We had no real complaints other than the maids for got to leave bath towels and loo rolls but we asked at reception for these and got them.
The pool aera is a little sun trap and good for topping up the tan and lazing about.
The entertainment well was ell nothing great, but there were several TV's which kept most folk amused.
All in all it was a great holiday with super value for money, my only gripe was I could have stayed another week easily.
We were sc and there was a super resturante on the prom which I can reccomend very highly. We ate there morning and evening. it had the best food and staff imaginable.

Although clean and bright the rooms at the Calema are looking a little dated now. We had a room looking out onto the front of the hotel on the top floor (4th) which was much better than the back which faced the rear of another hotel. The air con only works in the main living area so sleeping in the bedroom was very uncomfortable in the hot weather.
The two electric rings in the kitchen took ages to warm up so making a hot drink took forever.
With an electric kettle and a toaster in the kitchen plus air con in the bedrooms it would be quite acceptable.
Small outdoor pool at rear of hotel.
For some reason in order to use the indoor pool one has to wear a bathing cap.
Never tried the food in the place so can`t comment.
Staff friendly enough and good maid service. About a ten minute walk to the beach.
Would stay here again if improvements mentioned were implemented.

We stayed in apartment 5 which looked out onto a busy street with many coaches and commercial vehilcles passing to deliver to our hotel and also to more complexes further into the town.
We looked out onto a council esate with many dogs barking both day and night and also the constant coming and going of motor cycles an cars. Additonally many children seemed to play out noisily until very late in the evening.
Considering that the resport was nice and generally quiet we felt that the noise around us was excessive.
The two pools wich the apartments have are very small. About three strokes saw us from one end to the other of the outdoor pool. The inside pool looked no larger.
The cooker rings would'nt boil a small pan full of water let alone a kettle and I found a large cockroach running around in the bathroom one morning.
We fell in love with the resportand surroundings but next time we will book alternative accomodation.

My husband and I stayed in this hotel in 2005 in October. We found the hotel fantastic value. Friendly, clean, good food, value for money.

The apartments at Calema were lovely with a great location. They were very clean and spacious. The staff were all very efficient.
The only problem I could see here is not enough to do with people with children.
I would definately go back.
