We arrived early at 10.30 and were told that we could not check in until 2.00... We were how ever allowed to put our luggage in the luggage room until our room was ready and they did push for it to be done by 12pm. Rooms you could not fault. Clean, Big, everything you need, microwave, double balcony, cooker, fridge, double beds clean linen, towels.

Then came the down side- The food was diabolical, on one lunch time menu there was a choice of fish or guinea fowl..... No children menu choices at all. you only had a choice of meat or fish on the evening menu too... so I really think this is the first time I have lost weight on a holiday as there was nothing at all to eat. The creakfast consited of bacon, eggs, beans and last nights chips or last nights meat balls!!!

The pool side "snack bar" never had any chips and the only sandwiches you got were "processed" cheese and "processed ham". No butter, hard crispy cobs so were tasteless and disgusting. One waiter/bar person on who did his best to keep on top of things thou.

The walk to thebeach is 5 mins.. now that is worth going for. The beach was amazing, loads of rocks pools with fish in when the tide goes out.

I would recommend this area but not this hotel. There are plenty of resturants and there is a great one by the beach called Pickwicks, run by a family from london and they have lots of great English food....

Entertainment in this hotel was none existent. 3 nights we go kids disco hour, and then they just put the music on and the kids ran around like lunitics. The other night they had a parrot show which the parrots refused to take part so they just went off early, they had a folk night one night and that was good, Another night we had "crazy" bingo" and the reason it was crazy was because you won a drink from the bar for a line and a bottle of cheap plonk for a house (you could get these free at the bar anyhow) Oh and we all had to shout Yippee if we got the number he shouted out or boo if we did not, so it was harder to hear the man saying the number in 12 different languages as everyone was yippeeing and booing hmmmm not my idea of fun or entertainment.

But if you have already booked make the most of it and just get drunk.... after all you paid for it

We arrived at Clube Humbria on Sunday 6th May 2007 at 1pm. We were travelling as 2 families (myself, my husband + 2 children (aged 7 + 10) and (my sister, her partner and 1 child (aged 8) and needed 2 rooms. the lady on reception was very welcoming and friendly (although she was full up with a cold). 1 room was ready straight away but we were told we'd have to wait an hour (as normal check-in is 2pm) for the other room. both parties went to the available room and within 10 mins she rang through and said the room was now available. very happy!

We were all very surprised at the size of the rooms and how well equipped and modern they were. They were also exceptionally clean and the maids kept them that way all week. clean towels every day, beds made and even replaced any small soaps, shower gels, shampoo etc. we used out of the complimentary bathroom basket. we also had apool view which was lovely to see when you opened the curtains in the morning.

the food at the hotel was very good. every lunch and dinner had a meat dish and a fish dish, a variation of potato and pasta or rice. loads of salads to choose from and desserts were plentiful too. my kids are quite fussy eaters (normally opting for nuggets and chips) but they both enjoyed most of what was on offer.

All the hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. we recommend anyone travelling with children aged 5 and above go to "slide 'n' splash". book through reception rather than your tour rep. it really is a fantastic waterpark and it takes about an hour on the coach. i wasn't really bothered about going and was egged on by the kids, but i'm so glad i went and we had a brilliant day.

as for the entertainment, they was kids club running most days but ours were more than happy with just a lilo and ball in the pool (which was also very clean).
in the evenings the entertainment didn't start until 9:15pm and to be honest it wasn't much to write home about. the girls had to speak in 3 different languages every sentence they said and, as it was mostly audience participation, the german, french and spanish heard the questions before us. as a result you have no chance of answering unless they don't know the answer. having said that, we did have a few laughs and met a lovely couple from portugal who shared his winnings (bottle of bubbly) with us all.

appart from the entertainment, everything was spot on and we'd definately go back. the beach is beautiful but you have to pay for loungers and parasols.

well worth a visit.

We have just returned fom a one week stay at Clube Humbria. On arrival we were greeted and made very welcome by the reception staff. Check in was quick and efficient.

On entering our apartment, we were amazed by the size and cleanliness of it, definately the best we have stayed in yet. The maids kept it spotless all week, changing the towels every day.

The food was good and varied every day. The only complaint we had was that it was not kept warm enough for long, it was cold by the time we got back to our table! The desserts were vey good though, with plenty to choose from and lots of different fresh fruits. The Maitre De was always very pleasant and accomodating at meal times.

The first few days we had very cold winds and a lot of cloud but the last few days were very warm with a welcome cool breeze. It did get cold at night so I would recommend taking a cardigan!

There are shops within a two minute walk and the nearest beach is within a five minute walk.

The entertainment at night was brief, only lasting two hours at the most. It was mostly based on audience participation, we were lucky to be there the week there were a good crowd of people so it went down well!! We met some really nice people who helped to make it an enjoyable holiday. The entertainment girls done well but had no back up support if the audience didn't want to join in which we discoverd to our dismay on our last night there!! I cannot comment on the kids entertainment as we didn't have any children with us.

There was no shortage of sun loungers when we were there as it was quiet but i do believe in the busy season this might be a problem.

All in all we had a good relaxing holiday, met some lovely people and may consider returning here in a slightly busier season.

Hotel was really nice and clean and still new. Some of the reception staff not very friendly.

Our room was not ready and we had to wait 2 hours, previous to that we were asked to go to another hotel as they were overbooked.

Full of Germans and you could not get a sunbed by the pool.

Food was really nice and staff in restaurant very friendly.

Playpark was a bit misleading as it was out of the complex and across a small road.

Shop was poor, it was a gift shop only but brochure said it sold food, no food in it at all.

Did not get a pool view even though I paid for one.

Entertainment was geared towards the Germans mainly.

Maids worked really hard and kept the rooms spotless.
The only reason I would not return is the number of Germans at the hotel... Around 70% I would say. Other 30% were Scots, Irish, Portuguese and Dutch.

We have just come back from a really lovely holiday in Clube Humbria. We arrived during the day around 1pm, we were told we could go straight to the restaurant for lunch and leave our cases to be looked after as the room was not ready til 2pm. We could not believe our eyes seeing all the food. It was very very tasty (even my husband thought so, he is a trained chef!)

The cleanliness of the whole hotel you cannot fault at all. Some of the staff were a little off but maybe it was lack of English rather than rudeness, although we did find a few Portugese people rude!

The Entertainment was ok, there were a few nights they had good entertainment, other than that it was mainly geared up for the German and Portugese, but you could enjoy it, especially not having to pay for the drink!
