The location of this hotel is great. A 2 minute stroll to the beach and 2 minutes to the night life. The Rooms are basic but we paid extra to get an apartment rather than a studio which had ample room. There is no problem with noise at night, only people coming back in.

We were a litle apprehensive, as we had read some reviews previous to staying in these apartments that weren't particularly complimentary with regards to the staff, the accommodation and the pool. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The room was fairly basic, but this was fine as we spent little time there. It was clean and the beds were comfortable. We arrived in the resort at around midday, and were allowed straight into the room, and, when we left, as our flight did not leave until 6.15 p.m. we were allowed to stay in the room until 2.00 p.m. at no extra cost. The staff, although not over friendly, were polite and helpful and there were no problems with the pool.

The equipment there for self catering was basic but sufficient. The apartments were very clean and quite spacious with towels being replaced twice a week, not much really but we took our own anyway.
The food at the snack bar was good, and the staff quite friendly. The location of the apartments were brilliant as they are only a ten minute walk away from all the restaraunts, pubs and clubs on the main strip of Puerto del Carmen.
Didnt really bother with the entertainment in the on site bar as there are so many places to go on the strip. We would definately go to these apartments again in about 10 years time when Lanzarote has been developed much more!

The hotel is basic, but has character. Very convenient, close to the beach, shops nearby but far enough away from the bars to be quiet. We have been three times now, at low, medium and high season, all three visits better than the previous.
Lots of fun at karaoke in the bar with Eskimo Al...Seems to be a place people return to as each time we've been we've seen at least one couple from the time before!!
And for some reason they remember us too...
Pool area is ok, food and drink was overpriced this year and we were a bit disappointed.
Soldoiro accommodation gets better the further down the hill you go, apartments around the back of the main block don't get the sun and are very damp.
The walk up into the strip is a steep one, good job you're coming back down the hill on the way home after a night out!!
The timeshare touts do congregate outside the hotel and are really annoying!! Avoid the scratch cards if you can.

If you arrive before 2pm do not expect to gain access to your rooms. We arrived about 11 am and were told rooms would not be ready until the afternoon. Reps don't tell you this until you are almost at your hotel.
The apartments were basic but reasonably clean though the bedroom smelt a little damp.
Staff were friendly.
Entertainment within the hotel was average.
The Soldoira apartments offer basic no frills accomodation. Situated on a steep hill people with walking difficulties may find this a problem though you are only minutes away from the beach.
If you go up the hill you have The Strip which has an excellent range of shops, bars and restaurants within minutes from the apartments.

The Soldoiro is a no-frills hotel in a brilliant location (1 min from the beach and only 2 or 3 mins from the strip, which is packed with restaurants, bars, clubs, shops etc.) Although it is not really suitable for the disabled due to it being on a very steep hill which the locals call cardiac hill and the lack of lifts.
I found the staff to be very friendly, even though most did not speak English they tied to find a way of communicating, and on my numerous visits they taught me basic Portuguese and I taught them English.
The staff always had time for you and made it a very enjoyable hotel to stay in. Even though it has been over a year since I was last there the staff still keeps in touch and I have made friends for life - you can
