What it fails to mention in the Aspro bochure is that it also looks completely different to to the picture in the brochure. There are no big airy balconies ,but dingy poky ones, making the rooms very dark. The rooms were very small and very basic for a three star hotel. The rooms were very uncomfortable with no comfy chairs to sit on. The kitchen area was disgusting. We never cooked there and were forced to eat out all the timeThe poolside was never hosed down once in the week we stayed there,it was dirty.
We are only glad we were there for a week. We were glad to leave. We may return to Praia de Rocha but never to this hotel

The room allocated was badly furnished with no equipment and a faced out over a four lane road that was busy 24hours a day making it impossible to have windows open when you were sleeping.
The pool was crowded, dirty and the tiles were cracked.
We found ourselves alternative accommodation and booked out after three days.

Then I visited this site and a few other holiday complaint forums and panicked after what I read.
I arrived at the hotel 11pm and started shaking as I was told I was in the dreaded block 3 with my partner and 2 year old son. First 2 things I noticed was the wardrobe door was propped up against the wall and the fridge/freezer wasnt working. I went down to reception and explained what was wrong and before I made it back to the 3rd floor of Block B the engineer was already in my room!!
The fridge couldnt be fixed and by 10am next morning I had a new fridge in there and the wardrobe was fixed whilst we was out eating breakfast at one of the many fine places to eat here in Praia Da Rocha. I just wish I remembered the name of the cafe. Sitting Bull was nice and the Italian Restaurant on the same main road was delicious and friendly, you must go there if you get the chance. We didnt eat in the hotel because of reports on some forums so I cant comment on the standards.
I was there during the Euro 2004 finals and even when Portugal lost, the noise wasnt too bad, a few people drove around town pressing there horn way after 3am but I could only hear it because my patio doors where open.
For all you McDonalds lovers, there is a burger ranch that isnt expensive and quite tasty
Pussycats was a beautiful Irish bar where we went for breakfast and the blonde english girl was amazingly nice to our party.
The swimming pools in Block 3 were only small and very cold but the baby loved them.
Every shop we visited had friendly staff with about 90%who spoke English. Everyone wanted to keep my son :) and he made a lot of friends over there (not bad for a 2 year old who can only say a handful of words!! lol)
The beach was lovely. and clean altho the sunlounges on the beach cost 9 euros!! Take a sunmat and parasol is my tip 4 u guys.
I would recommend this holiday to anyone (but dont tell my partner as she wants to go again next month!!)
The only critism is that our bed sheets was only changed on the last night (after we complaned) and the towels where only changed twice. The maids didnt sweep the floor and just mopped over it instead but at least they did this every day.
