Tastefully furnished rooms, gourmet food and excellent service combine to make this a great hotel. Suits couples of all ages. Unsuitable for the less mobile due to location.

Exellent staff, friendly, helpful, polite. We had a superior suite with bedroom, balcony with clothes airer, en-suite and living room with kitchenette. There was a t.v. in the lounge and another in the bedroom. A huge choice for the buffet breakfast, lovely fresh fruit, bread etc and nice hot cooked food.

Room cleaned daily, with the pool towels refreshed daily and any used bath towels, hand towels, flannels, complimentary soap, foam bath and shampoo also replaced daily. When we left washing up it was done for us. Bed covers and furniture were rather drab. we didn't eat in for any other meals so unsure about those.

Both the indoor and outdoor pools were heated and not too crowded. Jacuzzi pool was on the blink whilst we were there.

Handy for the lido area of funchal but otherwise a bit far to walk to town. Complimentary bus service available.all-in-all better than we expected.
