I booked this hotel in the sale at £15 a night which was a steal for the centre of Aberdeen on Mad Friday night. The purpose of the stay was somewhere to crash after an Xmas night out in Aberdeen so we didn't need anything fancy.
I was a bit concerned after reading previous reviews which slated the place, but decided to make the best of it and hoped it would be cleaner than some of the reviews suggested.
I had requested a quiet room, as I could imagine the noise from Union Street and Bridge Street on a Friday night. We were allocated Room 102 on the first floor, opposite the Bar Cafe and at the back of the hotel. It was extremely quiet and we didn't even hear other guests returning at all hours of the night and morning as that seems to be the main purpose of this hotel at the weekend.
The room was a good size and spotlessly clean as was the bathroom. There was a double bed which was very comfortable and no sofa as we've had in other Travelodges. The only complaint was that the pillows were very thin and uncomfortable even with extra pillows from reception.
There was a flat screen TV and coffee making facilities. The bathroom was in good order and very clean with good shower pressure. The location is good if you want to sample the nightlife.
There is car parking available with limited spaces. We were very pleasantly surprised with the room and would have no hesitation in staying here again.
