I stayed at Crieff Hydro Hotel for a week in October 2012 with my 3 kids and my husband. This was our first time visiting Crieff Hydro - and what a time we had!! The free child-care for 2-12 year old was a godsend! With over 60 activities available there was something for everyone! My husband and son loved the Segway’s and myself and my oldest daughter had manicures done in the spa. It was wonderful. There are also 5 great restaurants to choose from. The kids loved the Winter Garden especially! The rooms were all lovely and the staff extremely helpful! I would highly recommend staying at Crieff Hydro Hotel!

The layout of the hotel can be very confusing - I guess thats why they provide a map.
They have obviously spent a lot of money on the surrouding areas of the hotel - in the activities and in the leisure areas - however the standard swimming pool needs to be painted (rust is not a good look)
I'm sure that the victorian spa is lovely - but why pay extra for some peace and quiet...?
The food was very dissapointing, for what we paid for the weekend - I got the impression that a lot of it was frozen then heated up - the deserts at dinner were definately mass produced and not made on the premises, something that you would expect from good hotel.
The staff were not that friendly or helpful, we found then to be cheeky and as if asking them a question was an inconveince. We arrived on a friday afternoon and it was well into dinner before anyone actually smiled at us.
I wouldnt go back as there are plenty of hotels that will charge the same for a much better and more professional service.
