After looking forward to a lovely family holiday what an absolute nightmare this turned out to be.

Apart from the lovely weather, sea and beach there is nothing else to say. On arriving at the mira mola the nightmare began. To cut a long story short here goes...

Firstly my bed had a spring stuck up in it that prierced my back on several occasions and it took staff until the day before we came home to change the mattress. Our shower didnt work for 5 days. Luckily we travelled with family so were able to use theirs.

On 2 occasions we caught young people having sex on the corridor outside our appartment door. On numerous evenings there were fighting and swearing with beer glasses being smashed and furniture being thrown. After one of these evenings my daughter ended up slicing her foot open after standing on a broken beer glass in the pool area. Resulting in 8 stitches. The poor night staff which consisted of 1 elderly pensioner was unable to control this. When ever you ask for help you were frowned upon.

The Thomson rep was a waste of space. Then to add insult to injury we had to keep a room on due to my daughters injury not been able to walk and our flight not leaving til the early hours, we were charged 50 euros for this priviledge when most of the other hotels/appartments only charged 20 or 30 euros.

Roll on next year I think we will go camping on the M1 moterway. It will be more peaceful.

If you've read the brochure then this is it... in other words Mira Mola does exactly what it says on the tin (so to speak)....

Basic apartments, ours had obviously been given a fresh coat of whitewash for the new season. Basically clean, although showing signs of ageing in places - some rusty fittings and the blind was broken...some of the fixtures looked like they had been fitted by a blind, left-handed follower of Picasso! (anyone who stays in room 552 will know what I mean!).

Uncomfortably hot at night (hire a fan and leave the windows open)

During the day the (small)pool is a typical family with teenagers haunt - much shouting and screaming, inflatables of all shapes and sizes, with the parents doing the usual thing of putting their towels out at 0700, going back to bed and then letting the kids take over while they slope off to the nearest "English" pub for breakfast at 1200 to then return to claim their place in the sun....There is a sign on the reception area that towels on unoccupied sunbeds will be removed, but saw little evidence of this happening... we saw one or two instances of "sunlounger wars" whilst we were there...

The pool is no smaller than any of the others in the area, the hotels seem to think that because they are so close to the beach that that is where everyone should be - which is exactly what we did... ( see report on resort).

Pool and shuffle tables, a couple of video gaming machines, a poolside bar and cafe and a launderette complete the picture - no entertainment and pretty much no rules about conduct around the pool, apart from a very old sign on one wall which no-one was taking any notice of anyway and there didn't seem to be anyone managing the area... result - pretty much bedlam as far as we could see......

Some really bad things - one of the three ladders out of the pool was broken, top rung missing and very loose on it's mountings - won't be long before it collapses I feel, and no prohibition of glasses around the pool area - VERY dangerous I feel especially with the number of balls/rubber rings/lilos flying through the air and the sheer numbers of kids running around all the time... we saw a couple of broken glasses lying around the sunbeds....

Reception staff spoke good English and seemed friendly enough - even gave me my deposit back on the room safe even though I had lost the receipt!

The night porter is a fairly dour chap, but he works hard cleaning the pool and things whilst getting abuse and various things thrown at him from balconies by teenage chavs who probably should be in bed...

Maid service daily and we got TWO towel changes in the week that we were there (unheard of)

The showers are a little quirky - the hot water runs out at about 7pm so be prepared for a cold one if you're any later!

Located not 500 meters from the beach, the apartments are ideal for those who want a basic room to sleep in before strolling off to the beach or into town for the nightlife...

Don't expect anything but the basics and you'll be OK here - but then it is budget priced!

Mira Mola self catering apartments, if you can do a meal with 2 electric rings no oven, no grill and 1 pot
your better than me.

The staff were very friendly but felt that the poor barmen were very over worked, they worked all day every day.
There was no entertainment so the pool was full of loud, screaming kids from opening till shutting.

Oh! did I mention that the bedroom window opened out onto the open staircase making it pretty impossible to sleep with everyone shouting at each other at all hours.

Had to get drunk every night to get some shut eye.

In a great area though if you can sleep through anything.
