We stayed at the Cartaga hotel in the San Miguel resort. On an all inclusive basis (first time)the food was of an excellent quality, and the location of the hotel had stunning views. The rooms although basic were very clean and the maid service was excellent. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly. You never had to wait long for a drink and their English was superb, - special mention to Roger in the Western Saloon who was fantastic. The entertainment, - although not West End standard was excellent. The kids loved the mini disco and the clowns. The adult entertainment was great, the best night is the men versus women (muppets). Zorro was the life and soul of the entertainment team, the bloke's a genius, he had us in stitches for two weeks. Thomsons reps were first class. We came home on 26th June and booked again for next year on the 28th. Our best holiday ever!!

Stayed at san miguel hotel. The hotel was brilliant & the scenery was amazing i definatly will be comming back to this hotel in a few years. The food was great because of the varity of choice and the quality. The loacation of the holiday is perfect right next to a beach. The hotel staff i think made my holiday the best they were so polite and never miserable!! The waiters (bar men)were the best(Especially Antonio! hiy its Roxi x)The entertainment was brilliant something different every night.
Il definiatly be comming back in a 2years the hoilday was outstanding!

We visited this resort for the first time and we will be coming back,from the very first moment that we walked through the doors we knew that it was going to be a good holiday but it was much more than that. The staff at the hotel are great, the entertainment are in a class of their own, the reps are ace.With five children aged 12,10,8,6,4 their was something for them all to do,not to forget all the activities for the adults.There was lots of tears when it was time to go home.This holiday and hotel will definately take some beating.

We didn't think we could beat the all inclusive holiday we went on last year, but the whole of our party thought this was even better. The views from the top floor restaraunt overlooking the beach are amazing. The food was of a very high standard in the main restaraunt with plenty of choice. The Chinese was average but worth a visit. The Mexican was terrible at the sister hotel and not worth the walk. Wasn't keen on the plastic glass idea at first but didn't mind once the brilliant Zorro explained this was due to the threat of broken glass on children's bare feet. Beach really clean and the sea is like tap water. Bar staff really friendly, especially the one near the beach where they took offence if you wouldn't add vodka to your coke at 11 in the morning!!! Entertainment average but great for the kids. The children loved the kid's club reps. A very small resort but no need to leave the complex although we did have a car one day due to bad weather. Definately recommed this for a good lively family holiday.

Hotel Cartago.
Excellent holiday with the as much to do for the adults as there was for the kids if you could drag yourself out of the pool. Reps were brilliant with Zorro making the difference between average entertainment and a good night-dont let this man have any time off again-Paul when not dressed in his Thomson the Dog outfit proved to be a good sports rep who most kids (and a few mums) all seemed to like tho his dance moves....hmmmmm ?
Booked again for next year, the only complaint being if Englands Footballers had stayed there the same two weeks as me would have saved a lot of grown men's tears.

Spotlessly clean, with excellent service from all staff the hotel was superb. Location is a bit secluded, but there is really no need to leave the complex, apart from the fact we were there during Euro 2004 and hubby went to the local bar to watch England get beat!! The entertainment was brilliant both day and night. During the day you could either get involved or not - no pressure from the reps or hotel entertainers. Evening entertainment great - mini disco and the clown for the kids right through to the proffesional acts was of a high standard. Won't be too upset if I don't here 'follow the leader' again until we return next year!
Definitely our best holiday ever. Special mention to Zorro and his team, although not too happy with Men v Women game!! When you get there all women will be of this opinion. None the less a good laugh.

Stayed in the rather tatty Club San Miguel, moved rooms on first night after being checked into something no bigger than a rabbit hutch!
The rooms are very basic and most of the furniture falls apart if you touch it. The bar staff were rude and basically couldnt care less, I am astounded that more people didnt comment on this, maybe they are used to being treated badly by barstaff, but I certainly am not. I didnt appreciate having my drinks (In plastic) slammed down and then for the bartender to be serving the next person before I have even got my drink in my hand. The place is awful, its cheap and nasty and in the middle of knowhere, so there is no escape. We were so fed up with it on our 2 week holiday that we moved hotels at our own expense just to get away
If you like Butlins you would probably like it, the entertainment was very good for the kids. However if you prefer not to be in a Mediterranean holiday camp then this is not the place for you.

Visited Beach Club in June and would thoroughly recommend it to anyone with a family.
The beach club is on 2 floors which is far more convenient that the hotel which has 8+ and only 2 lifts (which are extremely slow).
We had son aged 10 and daughter 1 year old and my son ages was catered for with plenty of activities, but there were very limited activities for my daughter, any of which a parent would have to be present. T
The rooms were adequate, bearing in mind you are only sleeping in them, space very limited if you have a cot in your room. I would recommend ordering a fridge if you have a baby.
The food was again adequate, nothing too special and if you are staying for 2 weeks, the 2nd weeks menu is similar to the first. Separate kids buffet which is useful.
Entertainment was good, with some good shows.
Hotel staff were excellent and very friendly.

I would thoroughly recommend this hotel and we would definitely be going back again.

we stayed on an all inclusive,the hotel service was excellent, the maids were very freindly and helpfull
the hotel food was brilliant you had so much choice,the snack was very good,the location was lovely ,but you need a car to see the island, but saying that you dont have to leave the complex because there is so much to do,

the entertainment team were out of this world, very funny,the staff made our holiday extra special because when the weather was not so good they kept us going
i would go back again but not at the beginning of may as the weather was poor

We stayed in the Beach Club, this was our third time back to this hotel.
The whole complex is spotless, the food is fantastic with a good choice for children.
As for all of the staff, well, they make the holiday, both the entertainment team and the hotel staff, they are all very friendly and helpful. Not forgetting the Thomson reps, again good, especially the kids reps, they all work very hard, must mention Tom, the kids love him, he'll never be forgotton by my little boy.
