Location
We stayed in a one bedroomed apartment with a sofa bed with a pull out bed below, which was fine for our children.
Our apartment had a pool and beach view, which was great. The room itself was of a good size with a good sized balcony.
Plenty of cupboard and wardrobe space for the four of us. Our room had a 2 ring hob, toaster, kettle, microwave, and ample cutlery and crockery.
Irons and hairdriers etc could be hired at reception. The maid service was excellent. Clean towels every other day, bedding changed regularly. Room cleaned to a good standard.
The pool and surrounding areas (all cleaned every morning)were excellent. There were signs saying not to reserve the sunbeds, but everyone still did (including us). The beach is about 50 yards from the pool. Nice soft sand and safe waters, which was great for the kids.
We didn't use the restaurant as we ate out most of the time so I cant comment. The only thing I will say is that the evening meal prices were 16 euros per adult and 12 euros for kids.
You can eat at any restaurant around the area for half that price. There was a pizzaria and a fast food burger bar, which served good food at good prices.
The entertainment alternated daily from professional acts which were very good, to Alcudia Pins entertainment team who were not so good. Bar prices were fair. There is an Irish bar attached to the complex, which we went to on one night and didn't go back.
They had kareoke but it didn't start untill 1130pm, too late for the kids. Childrens club was OK and there were daytime activities such as water polo or beach vollyball if you felt the urge.
All in all, a great complex for families to stay in.

The hotel was nice but on the first night we had a thunder storm which set the drains of so for the whole 2 wks we had a raw sewage smell every morning.
The pool was always full of people so the beach would have been your best choice if you could get a sun lounger. There was a bit of choice for self-catering with a burger bar, pizza bar and a bbq resturant. The amusements were basic and kids playground was falling apart. The staff were pretty friendly, the rep wasn`t very usefull at all far from it.
The location was rubbish as it took 2hrs to walk to alcudia the bus took 15mins but was every hour, apart from that i would never go back to this hotel ever.

We spent the first 2 nights of our holiday in a different hotel due to overbooking in the pins and we wish we had been able to stay in our alternative accomadation.
Who ever gave the pins a 4 star rating in the brochure must have been mad - this is a 2 star hotel at a push.
Our room was tiny, the sheets were changed once in 2 weeks and the floor mopped once also. I had to chase the cleaners to get clean towels. The bathroom was appalling and neither my family or I felt we could have a bath - instead showers for 2 weeks and even then we tried not to look at the scum and limescale in the bathroom!
The restaurant food was also poor, mass produced mush at best. The hygeine within the restaurant was questionable and we saw lots of children (and some adults) using their hands instead of the spoons provided etc., to help themselves to food, pick food up and then put in back in the serving dishes or use their fingers to taste food before deciding whether or not they would eat it! We were also expected to clear away our own plates, the restaurant floor was filthy with old, dried food and the staff attitudes were those of "cannot be bothered".
Needless to say we will never go back to this hotel and would tell all our friends to avoid it also.

These were not without reason when arriving; maid service was supposed to be 4 times a week although appeard random.. when challenging reception they were far from helpful, needless to say the room was not cleaned as often or as well as we would have expected.
Well a holidays not for sitting arround a room and I was only too glad that my children preffered the beach, as the pool was overcrowded and appeared dirty between the sunbeds, beware if you go and want the beach too.. Reserve you sun bed as they can all get booked up.
As for the evening entertainment, "If you cant beat them join them" became our motto, there were some very good tribute acts although the hotels own staff were particuarly poor, say no more.
With regards to the half board basis.. Its get what you pay for! There was a variety and out of 14 nights we can say only 1 night was poor, while there were issues about food being left arround tables "this was nothing to do with the staff, who cleaned up when it was pointed out.. The trouble was some of the clients has no idea how to handle food, makes you ashamed to be British!!
In summary - go there for a great beach holiday or if you like staying arround a cramped pool, playing bingo and listening to second rate entertainment go for it. I wont be going back to the Alcudia Pinns unless I have a labotomy but I would return to Playa Muro for its great beach which is child friendly

The location is excellent as it is right on the great beach.
We found the staff friendly and the cleaners were good with daily visits to your room (not too early!)
Entertainment was there day and night but we went out most nights.

The room was dirty and very small for 2 adults and 2 children the bedroom was like a wardrobe with no space to put anything, the bathroom was dirty, and the kitchen well all I can say is I would not even use a glass it was that dirty.
I feel they have too many apartments crammed into a small area,so the pool was far to small for the amount of people that the complex holds.
The location of the hotel as far as the beach goes was very good, although there was not alot outside the hotel,so we spent most of our evening in the hotel next door (playa gardens)which had excellent entertainment and great food a buffet for 12 euro's so I would recommend it.
We did have a good holiday but that was due to meeting friends there other wise we would have been disappointed.
I do not recommend this hotel if you like your property to be clean and tidy while we were there we did'nt even have our bed linen changed.
Needless to say we won't be returning to Alcudia Pins and as this is our 4th time back to Alcudia this was by far the worst hotel we have stayed in.

A bit unhappy with location of room above supermarket and Irish Bar as previously we had pool and sea views which was fantastic.
Dining Room - breakfast time was very busy and again at evening meal time - on my 2 previous occasions there were 2 seatings where you were allocated the same table and time for the duration of your holiday and this was a much better arrangement.
Supermarket stocked everything and was very reasonably priced.
Entertainment at night wasn't long enough - it ended later than this in previous years.
I love playing Bingo but the money prize was much lower than previously, by approximately half.
The hotel has been opened up to Europeans but I prefer all British hotels.
Songs - why is 'The Court of King Caractacus' not sung any more - my daughter was looking forward to singing and dancing to this since we booked the holiday last year.
