The sheets were only changed once even though I complained the boy had a nose bleed! oh and ours had holes in them, the rep joked they use them as ghost costumes - not funny! Just disgusting.
The food was terrible I was not expecting self service and you were allowed to eat at 6.15 only -it was more prison camp thean hotel,Airtours sell it as a 4* and that is pushing it somewhat.
Chips with everything - yuk. Even at breakfast.
The location was out in the middle of nowhere.Staff were unhelpful and entertainment was ok if bingo was your thing -its not ours.The dreadful noise day and night was very bad.
So yes I would never visit this hotel again!!!Oh and to top it all two of us got a lovely bug and we never ate the same so it was the pool - lovely!!

The noise of music 'follow the leader & Bingo ' 12 hours a day, the apartment had a Tree View and we were all biten by mosqitos.
The rooms were cleaned not EVERY DAY the bedsheets are changed every 4 days.
The cleaning staff shout through the corridors and you need to be brave to ask them anything as they get excited and embrased you.
The Pool is over crowed and did not see anyone cleaning it.
Was advised by the hotel company to take out Safes which cost a arm and leg. Even they do not think the place is safe.
Instead we ended up visiting and spending majority of our time in the Playa Garden which is run by First Choice which is next door and has some excellent shows and the staff are very friendly making you feel Welcome and Smiling.
Differnately will go back to the hotel next door.

The Pins has its drawbacks - the large restaurant is still too small to accommodate everyone at the same time, hence two sittings. If you want to be first in to the restaurant you have to there 15 minutes before your time. On your first visit to the restaurant they had an excellent system of allocating you a table for the length of your stay. All staff were friendly and helpful.
The pool is a good size but too small for the size of the complex. There is the usual problem of loungers being reserved from early morning but you can walk straight out to a long sandy beach and hire two beds and an umbrella for 7 euro a day. The room we had might have been small for a family of 4, but we found it fine for the two of us with fridge, kettle etc. It was kept clean and the bedclothes changed every 3 or 4 days.
We weren't that bothered about entertainment but others said it was good. The Airtours staff seemed energetic. We didn't have the problem of the noise of the music etc. each night - instead we had the noise of the air conditioning units for the restaurant but soon got used to that.
The hotel is 5 or 6 kilometres out of P. Alcudia which was fine for us. Some prefer that, some don't. Admittedly we got a late bargain and wouldn't have wanted to pay

the staff were just so friendly the airtours staff worked their socks off to entertain not only the kids but the adults to.
the appartments were basic but they were clean,the laundry room is there if you need it but who in their right mind goes on holiday to do the washing? also had a teenager with us who had a great time the only downfall I fond about the PINS was the rooms were a bit small for a famliy of 4.
it only cost 1 EURO 10C to go to PORT ALCUDIA by bus & there is a bus right outside the hotel every 20 MIN. I would not think twiced about going to the PINS again but the price for three next year is the same as for four this year so if you are off to the pins have a wonderfull time.

So what a pleasant surprise when we arrived. The place was spotlessly clean and the pool lovely (regular water samples were taken and tested throughout the day and the pool was cleaned every night)with a full time lifeguard. There's a pizza take away on site, a burger bar, supermarket, gift shops selling British 'papers and a launderette. The food was lovely, with plenty of variety and to top it off, the place is right smack bang on the beach. The staff in the restaurant were helpful and friendly but I can't comment on the other staff as we had no dealings with them. There was planty of entertainment and activities throughout the day and until late at night - but we didn't make much of an effort to join in as we'd decided to have a lazy holiday!!
A few niggly moans about the place would be:
1. The laundrette is very expensive so take handwashing liquid with you! It cost us

* All essential requirements on-site
* Smack on the beach
* Great sandy beach
* Modern and clean
* Large pleasant pool
* Family themed venue
* Safe feel; ideal for kids
* Relaxing secluded-ish location
* Nigh on constant entertainment
* Entertainers work very hard
* Good for a 3 star
* Generally basic but perfectly adequate
Depending on your veiwpoint:
* Lots of children
* A bit out of the way
* Not a spanish cultural experience
* Think "holiday camp abroad"
* Remember it is only 3 star
* Its gonna get very busy in high season
* Busyness may cause some problems
Having read all the other comments that have been posted about this apartment hotel I can see some differing experiences. Some people seem to have had some truly negative experiences but then on the whole their comments have been directly contradicted by others.
This is a big complex. Think "Butlins abroad" and I'd say you'd be about right. Remember this is a 3 star venue and not 4 or 5 star and you get what you pay for.
I found it clean, friendly and generally pleasant.
Its going to get very busy in high season and judging from other's comments this seems to be when a majority of the niggles occur. The thing is, surely all places like this are going to get busy in high season.
The accommodation is admittedly basic and not large but is adequate and clean. The apartment we occupied had a kitchen/diner/lounge area with a fridge, microwave, two ring cooker and plenty of cupboards. Off this a bathroom with small bath doubling as a shower and a large enough sink area with toilet. The double bedroom is seperated from the kitchen/diner by sliding wooden dividers and is just large enough to get around the bed. There was a good sized wardrobe and a tv. The main part of the apartment and also the bedroom had seperate patio doors leading out onto a good sized balcony.
I would say this was definitely fine for two people but if you had to start sharing it perhaps with your children (with anyone else then having the fold out bed-sofa in the kitchen/diner area) then perhaps thats where some people start finding it a bit cramped.
If this was going to be a real problem for you then I'm sure extra rooms are bookable(?).
As far as the comments about the blocks being very close together and other people virtually looking straight in I certainly didn't find that. Yes there are blocks opposite but a good 50 metres away and from what I saw this seems mostly the case. There may be a small percentage of apartments that are closer together but I would say not many.
This place enjoys an excellent position, it is smack bang on the beach. You walk off the bar terrace straight onto the beach and don't even have to cross an access road or anything, great for not having to worry about the kids.
Behind the venue is a National Park which is generally woods.
There are hotels to the sides but they are complex type places like this one and only stretch a couple of hundred yards in either direction.
The whole area has a relaxed slightly secluded feel to it.
Obviously this then leads to this place being a little out of any main areas of activity with bus or taxi rides the norm..its a bit too far to walk up the strip to the main resort of Port d'Alcudia.
On the plus side this place does have everything on site, bars, supermarket, pizzeria etc.
There is a large pool and large bar terrace this all looked fine with alot of people around the pool in the day.
There was entertainment laid on every night outside on the bar terrace with singing, acts etc but always someone on stage doing something. The whole time I was there the children always looked entertained and were having fun. The entertainers, bless 'em, they're a long way off the big time but they ain't half hard workers. Full marks to them.
The food, buffet/self service was adequate with the restaurant always clean and well prepared basic food well. Lets face it Spanish have a completely different palate so cooking for the very largely British audience here isn't going to produce sparkling results. Its canteen food and thats that. There's a supermarket downstairs with Heinz baked beans and proper bacon in packs to cook in your apartment, so they got that bit right!
The staff are happy and helpful (once you get past that "seen it all" indifference on ocassion). The whole place is clean and modern but the whole thing to remember, and I think this where alot of the gripes come from, is that this place is going to get really busy in the high months and there are going to be alot of people arriving and leaving in any one day! I suppose if you have problems or your apartment has been overlooked by the cleaners you'll have to go and moan at your rep or on reception and I'm sure they'd sort you out.
Otherwise best look out that 5 star brochure.
Be warned if you like the quiet life: the bar terrace area is at the front of the courtyard where the pool is and there is nearly always some type of music playing until 11.30pm. The sound reverberates around the courtyard and is audible from most areas and apartments..fine if its keeping the kids quiet but perhaps not for you if your kids are usually quiet anyway! Again, it depends on what you want from a holiday.
So, all in all this is a family resort with everything on site. Either go and sit on the beach for a week while the kids are off doing their own thing (this resort has a very safe for kids feel) or use it as a base and hire a car..there are some great places to see on Majorca once you get out and about.

from the moment i got there the staff were all very friendly.
the pool is big but in high season it may be a problem with getting a sunbed, because when i went in may it got really busy and if you were'nt there by 11ish then you would struggle to find one.
there is a slide for kids, not very big but enough to keep kids entertained.
also the reps are round the pool area most of the day doing quizzes and activities for both kids and adults.
the hotel has the beach right on its door step so thats a bonus, also it has its own supermarket which has plenty of variety.
it is quite a bit away from the centre but it is penny's on the bus which you can get just outside the hotel, the reception will provide you with time tables.
the hotel also has its own burger bar, pizza place and games room.
when it comes to night you can go to the main bar where the entertainment reps will be, they provide shows like kids talent shows, professional singers, bingo, and the reps dancing and singing, they also do a few games for the adults, the entertainment reps were excellent they were all very friendly.
also there is a spin disco to dance the night away, and a cocktail bar.
i will definately be going back to the alcudia pins next year beacause it was fantastic.
and the thing about holidays from hell, that is all sorted now beacause when i was there they tested the pool every day 3 times a day for cleanliness.
it is more of a family hotel, or couples but im only young and i enjoyed it.
if there are any single girls going there look out for phill the entertainment rep he is gorgeous.
