The hotel was lovely, rooms nice, communal areas nice, reception staff nice.
The restaurant was not so good. If you go for dinner near closing time you will get the "evil eye" from the staff. The choice of food is ok but I've had better in 3* hotels. We were there early in the season but we were never made to feel welcome in the dining room and I did not like the attitude of the dining room staff. It seemed like they just wanted you to leave so that they could sort out the tables for breakfast. Not an enjoyable experience.
Nearby, there are loads of places who will welcome you to their tables. The Rose & Crown do a lovely lunch as do most of the surrounding restaurants and pubs. I'm sure they would be the same in the evening for dinner.
If this hotel did room only, it would be much better. It is a German based hotel so don't think you will be able to join in the evening entertainment. Although, the entertainment man was so bad the Germans couldn't understand him either. His last name was Kruger, so he was Freddie to all of us.
I have to say that the Germans, Austrians and any other were very nice. Very few Brits, but ok all the same.(The Gerries came out to see us off when we went home, I thought that was nice of them).
I wouldn't say this was a place for young people, however, there are night clubs etc,not opened when we were there. I am a Palma Nova fan and it was much quieter in Calla Millor.
I enjoyed it though and I would go back but I think to the Talyot (Thomsons) just for the crack! If you go a walk to the Castle, beware, we were flashed by a scary guy on a motorbike! Unfortunately for him I hit him a slap, he didn't know I was from East End of Glasgow!!. I don't put up with that rubbish. We laughed about it but It is far from funny. So be careful up there people.
All in all a great place, if you go to this hotel, budget for eating out.
I would go back, not to this hotel because of the dining room staff.

The hotel was very clean but the food was quite poor and very little choice for young children. Stayed in 3* hotels with better food.
The location was excellent, very close to the beach.
The staff were very helpful but entertainment was dire.

Hotel is rated at 4 star?? Although the hotel was clean and the rooms have air conditioning it appeared to us - a little dated. The staff were couteous and helpful - the food was very disapointing and we ate in the hotel - only two nights out of seven and even then - only because it was more convenient!
The location of the hotel is both good and bad! - the good points are its proximity to the lovely beach and other facilities - the bad points are not really the hotels fault, as it was obviously there first, however, if you are wanting a quiet time - beware - across the road from the front of the hotel, there are both English 'pub' and German 'singalong' type bars which offer 'live entertainment' including Karaoke nights where people shout at the top of their voices late into the night (and this was September!)
The hotel did offer their own 'entertainment' which was at best 'OK' but not the best in the world -however it was a pleasant change from the competing Karaoke shouters across the road.

Excellent hotel, calm even at peak time when we visited. Typical, clean modern 4*. Food average and not particularly varied. Hotel staff pleasant. Refined environment with impressive entrance. We had a ground floor room which was very handy. Near to beach and shops. an enjoyable break.
