Really disappointed that Thomsons suggested this hotel after a weeks cruising when they knew we had a 14 year old son , dreadfully boring for him , the so called entertainment is funny the first time you hear it and painfully boring by the second day (you no play you no bloody win - arrggghh !!!)
The food was pork , pork and more pork , whilst hot it was dull repetitive and not particularly tasty , the waiting staff worked increadibly hard mind you , the bar staff on the other hand i found to be slow , spoke to us in quite an off-hand manner also , with the exception of one younger guy who was always cheerful and willing to help.
This hotel was full of older people and is not suited for people with childern , or indeed people under the age of 50 , i also couldn't believe that while there one older guest complained that kids were jumping in and out of the pool.
Also on arrival i was allocated a room on the 4 th floor , which had a sea-view (which i hadn't booked) we dropped our stuff and headed out only to come back a couple of hours later to be told that they had mistakenly given us the wrong room - they mixed us up with another party called smith apparently - fair enough , i wasn't happy but moved , only to discover them putting up a notice in reception saying sea-room veiws were available at a supplement of 3 euros per person per day , to makes matters worse the room we were moved from lay empty for the whole week - no allocation mistake at all.
We were moved to rooms on the reception side of the hotel - avoid at all costs , firstly you habe the Thomson buses arriving at all hours which disturbs your sleep in the early morning (i know it can't be helped but if they can move you do so) , also outwith the hotels control there is Tiger the dog across the road who barks from first light to dusk.
If you are under 50 or indeed have some fighting spirit left in you or if you have kids then avoid at all costs

This was a last minute booking due to the floods (we were meant to be in Scarborough then Blackpool!) It was a choice of 3 hotels and we were so pleased when we got the Talayot as it was in a perfect position right on the front in the middle of the promenade between Cala Bona and Cala Millor. We had some lovely walks along the prom and sat looking out on the Med Bliss! We have stayed in the area before at The Hotel Alicia (very nice too!) Talayot had nice rooms, good food and very friendly staff, the entertainment was not much which hence the lower score however the guy who runs it deserves a 5 as he is so funny especially when he does the bingo!! If I stayed again I would pay extra to have a full seaview. great hotel worth a visit.

We stayed at the Hotel Talayot for one week on half board, the last time we stayed at the Talayot was about 12 years ago and were so pleased then that we wanted to return to this hotel again in April 2006

When we arrived at the Hotel it was midnight and when checking in we were told that the restaurant was still open for people arriving late. We cannot fault this Hotel in any way, the food was first class the hotel location located on the shoreline just perfect and the staff could not have been any more friendly.

I would point out that the entertainment is geared more to adults and there is little to entertain young children

We are planning to return to the Talayot again in September 2006 and would recommend this Hotel to anyone without young children.

An enjoyable week was had at the Talayot Hotel, but a week was enough. The hotel entertainment is geared to senior citizens.

You could not fault the quality of the food, but shepherds pie or roast beef with yorkshire pudding which were both on the dinner menu as part of the buffet were not very exciting.

Staff were all excellent and I would highly recommend Ericas sangria.

Location was great, very convienient for the beach, boat trips, shops etc.

Bedrooms were adequate with good air conditioning but not on the generous size, we could not find room to put cases away.

Whilst we would return to the Talayot if we wanted a quiet holiday, we will perhaps wait till we are in our sixties.

Tthis was our first visit to this hotel and it won't be our last.

It had the warmest and best food I have ever had in a hotel. Andreas' paella and sangria demonstration is not to be missed.

It is a well situated hotel and is friendly and clean.

We will certainly be back.

We stayed at this hotel as part of a stay and cruise. Hotel was first class, food excellent and very clean.

Entertainment was geared to older people. Hotel staff very friendly and couldn't do enough for you.

Would definitely visit this hotel again in the future.

First time in this hotel, we could not fault it. Our room looked out over the sea (I had requested this by e.mail) and we had a corner balcony so got the best of the sun.

We rarely stay in a hotel in the evening but we did here and it was good, particularly Tony's disco ,he plays music for all kinds of dancing.

The food is good and the bedrooms and all areas very clean.
The position is great as it is between Cala Bona and Cala Millor.

We have stayed in several hotels here but this was our favourite.

Fantastic place to go, activities for all ages. Food is the best I've had whilst on holiday, and is a lot better than some restaurants over here.

Superb location and view with all activities you would want within walking distance.

Andres is hilarious, his bingo will make you cry with laughter and make sure you go to the paella class.

Overall 10 out of 10, recommend it to anyone.

Hey,
just come back from there today, only went for a week and really enjoyed it, and we were shocked by ho quickly the week went. The food was good as long as your not fussy, there wasn't a great deal of choice, but as long as you like pork and beef you would be fine as it is freshly carved for you when you want it. the hotel was very clean, wasn't a speck of dirt anywhere, the cleany ladies do work really hard! the location was very good and really pleasant, although the sea had lots of seaweed in it, not really suitable for swimming in! the hotel staff were nice enough, although i didnt find them that friendly, maybe its just me because everybody else seemed to think they were, but andreas was lovely! you must go on one of his walks, as he's really funny! i thought the entertainment was a bit of a disappointment, but it is only a small hotel so you can't really expect good entertainment! i would visit the hotel again as i have had a lovely weeks, the only downside was that the swimming pool wasn't very big, and the swimming pool area is really shady because of the pine trees! Also, this is very much an older persons hotel, not many children at al, mainly couples over 65!
