The appartments were of a high standard and clean for the rating of the accommodation, however, the kitchen needed updating as it was eyesore of the appartment, thank god for restaurants! The kitchen smelt awful on opening what looked like cupboard doors. But other than the kitchen everything else was very clean and comfortable.

Food was of a good standard. The pina coladas went down a treat!

The swimming pool was of excellent standard and was cleaned twice a day, we wish we could of stayed longer. Enjoyed by all (adults and kids).

The beach was a stones throw away and was lovely as we could hear the waves whilst sitting on our balcony in the late evening. You could also still see your feet when the water was upto your neck!! Not like Swansea Bay!! There was always a space on the beach to plonk yourself down and catch the rays on the lovely clean sand!

The hotel staff in general were very helpful and efficient, spoke very good english and always willing to help.

We stayed in one of the few 2 bedroom apartments. The accommodation was typical Spanish, with basic but good facilities. They were cleaned and had towel / linen changes regularly. Kitchen facilities only consisted of 2 electric rings, a microwave, kettle, toaster and fridge, so we didn't do any cooking. This area must be kept clean, otherwise the ants will arrive promptly, as we found one morning - however this was quickly dealt with by the staff.

The complex was nicely contained with two blocks of apartments opposite each other, with the kids club and play area at one end, and the swimming pools at the other. This made it a safe environment for the kids. We went outside the school holidays so there was enough space around the pools, but suspect that this would not be the case in July or August.

The First Choice kids club reps, Sarah and Zoe, were very good and provided a good variety of activities.

The restaurant and bar staff were all excellent, spoke very good English and were great with the kids, especially Emilio. Special mention must be made about Alberto, the one-man entertainment team. He was there every day organising poolside games (shooting, archery, killer darts, water-polo, ...) and every evening he hosted the kids disco, followed by a variety of themed events that involved many of the adults and kids.

Lovely hotel with three varying size pools with gardens leading down to lovely sandy cove.(Very handy if you couldn't get out of bed at 7.00 a.m. to bag a sun bed - which can be annoying when these are left empty till midday or afternoon) Food fine and prices reasonable but service very slow at table and also at the bar where they could do with more staff. However bar and reception staff very friendly to adults and children alike. Alberto must be the hardest working entertainer ever and always in a good mood. Kitchen very small but didn't do a lot of cooking so no problem there. Towels changed every other day and room cleaned.

This was the 3rd time we had stayed at this resort, and we are returning in two weeks time.

Staff are excellent, accommodation clean and functional.

I agree with the comments regarding the kitchen, it is very basic, but is ok for its use.

we stayed self catering but ate at the hotel most nights mainly as the children, including 9 month baby, enjoyed the entertainment and therefore we had a relaxing evening. The food was of a pretty good standard but the service was chaotic!
All the staff but especially the reception and cleaning staff were fantastic. The entertainments organisers energy and enthusiasm was astounding.
the apartments were clean and basic but fine for our needs.
The pools were fantastic and clean although we learned very quickly to set the alarm for 7am to ensure we got a sunbed.
The location was very quiet although the bus service was great and we were given lots of advice on places to visit by the hotel staff
i would definitely recomend this hotel to families of all sizes and ages and would love to return to menorca and these appartments with the kids

We picked the Sa Caleta apartments because it had a kids club and really enjoyed our stay.

The restaurant was good, not alot of variety but reasonably priced. We ate at the commercial centre a few nights and really enjoyed it.

The hotel staff were all really friendly apart from one of the reception staff. The kids reps- sarah and zoe were fantastic and my children loved them.

The kids club itself is a bit warm but is a really safe environment for the kids to play in.

As a family of 6 we had a 2 bedroom apartment.
We found the apartment large enough to cater for us all and very clean.Plenty of fresh towels and clean linen throughout our stay.
Staff very helpfull and friendly.
Emilio(ow! who's bad)the main man in the restaurant, great with the kids.
Lucas & Alex also very good.
Tony & Carl very good too.

Entertainment:Excellent
Alberto & Adri(our main reason to return)made our stay most enjoyable with exceptional entertainment for both the kids & the adults.


Downside; Not enough staff in both bar & restaurant to cater for the large amount of clientele.

This was a very good hotel that had 3 clean pools varying in size (e.g. splash pool for children and big pool for older ones!) The apartments were generally clean and the bed linen and towels were changed regulary! Although the floors were dirty and you couldn't walk barefoot for long without getting dirty feet, also the rooms (e.g. the bathroom) could have done with being refurbished and updated, the kitchen was basicly equipped but it was clean (although there were some ants, so dont leave food out as the ants will be every where in the morning!)The entertainment at night was the best!!! They did a range of stuff such as bingo, kareoke, plays, music, free raffle! Overall id give it about 8/10. The best thing about it was the beach was only down some steps!!!! Enjoy these appartments if you go!

Sa Caleta Playa apartments 07/2004. Just returned - the first comment would be the common areas in the resort are too small and too cramped in relation to the number of apartments. Sunbed wars are highly evident with towelling of beds commencing at 3.30 a.m.!! Beds were towelled early in the morning and the culprits would go off into Ciutadella for the day. Out of 100 or so sunbeds around the main pool area, on average less than 10% were occupied at any one time.
The apartments are shabby and outdated and badly in need of serious cleaning - the quick swipe with a damp cloth and a water spray is insufficient!
The management of the complex issue a series of rules which include no towelling of sunbeds, no diving into the pool, no glassware or crockery to be used near the pool area, no adults or inflatables on the water slide - all of which are totally ignored by everyone - child and adult!
The site is in no way at all managed or policed by the complex management. In support of this, during our 14 night stay we never witnessed any member of the management in attendance in the pool areas - we did not have children with us but did notice some of the smaller children being hurt by the unsupervised antics of the virtually adult (at least in size) children!
The bar and restaurant areas are highly confused and it is unclear what is bar and what is restaurant. Add to this the extremely slow and poor service and mediocre food. During our stay local youths used the pool area regularly and also lower apartments suffered theft of towels and clothes - dismissed by the complex management as "high spirits" by local youths - I would have thought theft is theft.
The staff were without exception pleasant but non-effective and you could do better for your money elsewhere - we did not join the great sunbed race but did speak to other people whose holiday was absolutely ruined by this!
We did not have an unpleasant holiday, but these observations were clear. We also noticed a dissatisfied person taking photographs of offending items prior to his departure!

Sa Caleta is great for families. Really clean; there was an army of staff out every morning cleaning the pool and restaurant area. The staff were really friendly and approachable. Alberto the entertainer is so enthusiastic and energetic he can create an evenings entertainment from a small sock.
