I went to the hotel last year and am going again in a few weeks time. I would definately like to visit the hotel again after that.
I foud that the hotel was in a very good location with only a 5 minute walk from the beach. the food was something else though, it was brilliant! the selection was great and there was always a new choice each day. the buffet was a good size aswell.
The entertainers and and activities were great and i am really looking forward to them this year. they made the hotel great.
The hotel was clean and if you dont mind a few little points with the hotel its the perfect getaway!!

This was our second visit to the hotel and we are returning again this year (20004).
The food alone must make this a great hotel. There is just so much choice for kids and adults and as mush as you can eat, lots and lots of healthy salads and fruit or meat, fish, full cooked breakfasts....you name it and it's there.
The hotel is getting on a bit and needs a face lift around the grounds but don't let that put you off as the gardens and pool are being cleaned early every morning,it is spotless clean and the staff really go out of the way to help you.
The entertainment is very good in the evenings if you have kids and want to stay around the hotel.
The shops and beach are great, only a ten min walk and you are there.

Just got back from a wonderful week at Club Tonga. We could not fault anything. The hotel is kept spotlessly clean, as are the rooms, communal, and dining areas. The food was very good and as the hotel itself caters for the international community, the menu was varied. The entertainment team (Animation) were excellent, and very hardworking. Would certainly go back again.:pele

We have just returned from a fabulous 11 days at Club Tonga and had a great time. This was our first 'big' hotel having previously self catered in Puerto Pollensa and done half board in Hotel Sarah just up the road in Son Baulo but our fears of queues for dinner, waiting for lifts and lack of variety in the restaurant never materialised.
The Tonga is a very cosmopolitan hotel with as many Italians, Germans and Spanish as there are English and Scots. Being predominantly families the 'mix' was fine and there was no segregation into 'us and them' areas as we've experienced in the past. Much credit for this must go to the Animacion team who hail from Russia, Belgium and Italy all of whom speak many languages and work tirelessly throughout the day to provide enough things for people to do should they get fed up of sunbathing and create a great impartial atmosphere.
The Restaurant is superb and worthy of a posting of it's own but I can honestly say that it will be difficult to adjust our diets in search of the variety on offer now that we have returned home. For Breakfast you could choose from Full English with Bacon, Sausage etc., including Boiled, Griddled, Fried or Scrambled Eggs, 5 different Cereals, Fresh Fruit Salad, Dried Fruit, Muesli, Cold Meats, Freshly baked bread, Croissants, Juices and Yogurts. For evening meals we could not fault the selection with Roast Beef, Pork and Lamb, Grilled Chicken and Fish, Mussels, Pasta, Salads and cold meats of every variety, stuffed Aubergines and Peppers, Roast potatoes......BRUSSELL SPROUTS.....and apparently they had chips as well!!!!
For us Ca'n Picafort does not quite have the charm of Puerto Pollensa or the hustle and Bustle of a the millionaires playground of Puerto Banus but has more than enough bars and shops to occupy oneself in the couple of hours between the evening meal and the hotel entertainment starting. A gentle 10 minute stroll and your on the beach or in the thick of things and being located on the main road it's a short hop by bus to Alcudia and Puerto Pollensa only half an hour away.
The hotel entertainment was very good. Rather than try to re create musical masterpieces with poor voices much of the entertainment is dance based to original sound recordings. The best example coming from the Sound of the Shows evening where a mixture of classic hits from Grease, South Pacific (I think!!), Saturday Night Fever and the like are re-enacted by Janno (?) Alex, Babs, Alyssia, Rimpy and Anna to good effect. Don't think that as these people are the same ones you see every day organising the Ping Pong that they are second class entertainers, they're not, and give it 100% to co-ordinate the dance moves and put on a great show with limited resources.
So is there a downside to this hotel? The only complaint we heard was that the lifts were too small and in that respect we were fortunate being based on the 3rd floor had the choice to walk if we had to. We went in June and towards the end of our stay the number of guests increased by a third. With what looked like 3 floors out of action and with school holidays in July/August Club Tonga may lose it's appeal by becoming too busy?
We are considering a return to this hotel next year and that is a testament to how good our stay was!

as i had been here 2 years previously i was a bit worried that this time round it would not be as good but i can honestly say that it was better.the food was of the same high quality with enough variety for even the best of whingers. our rooms were cleaned on a daily basis and to an excellent standard.entertainment at the hotel throughout the day was always on offer and as for the night entertainment, you will find it hard to get better anywhere. i have already booked to go again next year and as for the people who give it a bad review, stay at home!

We had an excellant holiday at the Tonga, would go again, great food and friendly staff, apart from flight deylays each way we would certanily go again, although now i hear that it is an all inclusive hotel im sure its much better. Bit of a walk to the beach and the swimming pool is FREEZING!!! But you can never complain about the club tonga it will be the best holiday you will ever have!

WE HAVE JUST RETURNED FROM A 2 WEEK HOLIDAY AT CLUB TONGA 100802.IT WAS A LAST MINUTE BOOKING AND WHAT A BARGAIN. SEVEN OF US TRAVELLED AND WERE HIGHLY DELIGHTED WITH EVERYTHING. WE VISITED THE CLUB TONGA 6 YEARS AGO AND IT WAS GOOD THEN BUT NOW IT IS EVEN BETTER. THE CHILDREN WERE WELL ENTERTAINED BY THE STAFF WHO DESERVE MORE THAN DOUBLE THEIR WAGES, ESPECIALLY MILANA WHO COULDNT DO ENOUGH FOR THEM. IT MAKES A CHANGE FOR A FAMILY OF 4 TO HAVE A DECENT SIZE ROOM, WE COULD HAVE HELD A BALL IN OURS. IT WAS CLEANED
EVERY DAY AND NOTHING WAS TOO MUCH FOR THE STAFF. THE FOOD
WAS EXCELLENT AND WE ALL CAME HOME HEAVIER THAN WE WENT. I WILL SERIOUSLY CONSIDER VISITING AGAIN FOR AN ALL ROUND VALUE FOR MONEY HOLIDAY.

We've just got back on the 25 of August 2002. We had a wonderful time. The entertainment was brilliant. The rooms were cleaned daily. The staff were really friendly. At first impressions you think, "Oh my god were booked in a sky scraper" But it is not that bad at all. Luckily we were on the first floor, but for the higher floors it must have been a nightmare becaurse there is not enough lifts to cope. Sometimes there are que's for dinner, but you would be waiting for about 10 minutes. The food at the Hotel is nice, but they have a one week rota. So if there was grilled chicken on wednesday, next wednesday there would be grilled chicken. I would say not to go for two weeks. Nor one week. 10 days would be just right for the Tonga.
Another good thing is there is a computor with the internet so you can check your e-mails, 3 pool tables, 2 tv lounges, pinball machine, cash point machine wich take mosts cards, 2 pools wich are very very cold - do'nt jump in, get in slowly!!!!!!! there are bikes to hire, kids park. The hotel has its own childrens clubs which are free. Teenage club.
Archery, Tennis, Pistol Shooting. There is two much to do!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

Just arrived back, July 2007! Would go back but several things could have made holiday a bit better.
The lifts are a disgrace for such a large hotel. Three lifts holding a total of around 18 people. Not good when around 50 people at a time trying to use them.
The queues at the bar are a pain. Could easily be sorted my using larger glasses. They obviously don't know what a pint glass is. The bar staff could be quite rude at times. You would think it was their beer we were drinking.
The food is a bit repetitive but all edible. A little more variety would be good.
Getting up at dark o clock to put your'e towels on a sunbed. Not meant to be allowed but everyone else was doing it so unless you want to sit inside all day if you couldn't beat them you had to join them.
WORST OF ALL, THE GERMANS!!!! I HAVE NEVER EXPERIENCED SUCH IGNORANCE AND ARROGANCE IN ALL MY LIFE. THOUGHT YOU WERE MEANT TO CHILL AND RELAX ON HOLIDAY. IF THEY ARE NOT FIRST IN THE QUEUE THEN BY GOD THEY WILL PUSH THEIR WAY THROUGH TO MAKE SURE THEY ARE. ALSO IF THEY DON'T COME DOWN EARLY ENOUGH TO GET A DECENT TABLE FOR THE EVENING ENTERTAINMENT THEN THEY WILL MOVE ALL THE FURNITURE TO FIT ONE IN. AN ABSOLUTE DISGRACE!!!
ON AN EXTREMELY GOOD PLUS SIDE, THE ENTERTAINMENT IS SECOND TO NONE. THE TEAM WORK VERY HARD AND PUT ON GREAT SHOWS EVERY NIGHT. THEY NEVER STOP. A PLEASURE TO WATCH. THEY ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR KIDS CLUB, POOLSIDE GAMES, KIDS DISCO AND EVENING ENTERTAINMENT.
Would I go back????? Yes, the kids had a ball from morning till night and I would return just for the entertainment. Maids and reception staff a pleasure to speak to too. The rooms small but kept spotless, along with the rest of the hotel unless you are one of the many germans chucking everything at their arses and expecting everyone to clean up after them.
