The hotel has about 90% German guests but we were made to feel very welcome. The hotel is very clean with well presented rooms.
Plenty of choice for food.Very friendly waiting staff.
Never had any problems getting a sun bed, the pools were very clean. The beach is a few minutes walk away.
Bus stop opposite hotel, buses every 15 mins to Alcudia and Pollensa.
Would stay here again.

Aparthotel Platja Daurada In Alcudia was delightful
and very well run.
The staff were most help full and friendly. The position of the hotel was perfect and the ease of walking to the promenade was a bonus.
I was with my husband son, daughter in law and two grand children and with a span in excess of 70 years between us we all had a great time. There was a good varity of food for the children. We had suites.
I think the rooms would be tight with extra beds in.

After logging in to this web site before we visited this hotel, we were a bit apprehensive on arrival but all our fears were in vain as we totally enjoyed our holiday.
The staff were very friendly and nothing was too much trouble for them. The hotel was very clean, and the meals were excellent with a variety of choice every day.
The rooms were a little on the small side but as a family of three we found we had adequate space and comfort.
There were ample sunbeds and plenty of shade if you wanted we never struggled to get a sun bed at all.
We will certainly return to this hotel again as we had a perfect holiday there no complaints at all.

The hotel was clean & friendly, but it was mostly catered for german guests, hotel was mostly occupied by germans.
The restaurant menu at night was a bit disappointing as it was buffet style and not relaxed enough,by the time you had sat down with meal it was only warm and felt rushed
The location was terrific only seconds from the beach which was good because you could never get a sun lounger by the pool because of the germans.
The outside pool restaurant was brilliant top food good prices.& top service.

We booked with last-minute.com - only eight weeks before our holiday. We were a party of five - three adults one including my eldest son of 18 and our two younger children. At the time of booking we had requested adjoining rooms but this wasn't guaranteed. As we arrived at the Hotel at 2:30am, we collected the room keys from the night porter at reception. Unfortunately we were given two separate rooms without adjoining doors and the hotel maids had forgotten to make up an extra bed. When we complained to the night porter that we were one bed short he said there was nothing he could do until the morning, so two of us had to share one bed for the night! They said sorry but we were not compensated in any way for the inconvenience!
The rooms were rather small and very basic for a four-star hotel and with the extra folding bed in place, there was hardly any room to move. We were not lucky enough to have a pool or sea-view and our rooms looked over some lttle scruffy houses and a car park. The Hotel was in a very convenient position though - only seconds onto the lovely sandy beach and only minutes from the shops.
The food was exceptionally good, but not a great choice for the children. The restaurant was very spacious and the buffet food was laid out nicely with plenty of variety. The evening entertainment was very average with some acts being quite amateurish.
The biggest problem we encountered was the lack of sunbeds. At 8:30 every morning, the sunbeds were unchained and the guests - mostly German would pounce on the sunbeds and take as many as they could get their hands on! For the best part of the day, most of the sunbeds were covered with towells and not being used! We felt this very unfair as many guests were left without sunbeds.
Overall, apart from the small rooms and the lack of sunbeds, it wasn't a bad holiday. For a number of reasons, we probably wouldn't go there again though!

Based on the details by Portland Direct on their web site and reviews by others who have stayed at this hotel we booked for a weeks stay at this hotel. The official rating of the hotel is 4*, but in reality it should be 3*. The rooms are small, with just enough room to pass between the bed and the storage units. The A/C did not work, only hot air was available, on the cold setting, hot setting - nothing. We were informed that it was not the Summer Season and therefore the chilled water palnt was not switched on. This aws with an external temperature of 23deg C. No mini bar or fridge to store cold drinks.
The selection of the meals both at breakfast and evening meal time was restricted. With the selection for the evening meals improving slightly towards the end of our stay.
Evening entertainment was at best poor, four live shows during a stay of 7 nights and then, nothing on par with other hotels we have stayed at within Spain and the Canary Islands.
If the food selection and the entertainment was to improve, then we would stay again at this hotel. But, if our experience is "The Norm", then we could not recommend it.
The Pools and sun bathing areas are good, make sure that you book a sun bed in the elevated sun decking area, as it remains in the sun all day long as the sun sets behind the hotel casting a shadow within a major part of the swimming pool and sun decking area.
The view of the beach, from our room was very good and the best part of the stay.

THE PLAYA DAURADA IS ONE OF THE BEST ALL ROUND HOTELS I HAVE STAYED IN. THE HOTEL IS LOCATED ON THE BEACH AND IT LITERALLY A TWO SECOND WALK, OVER THE DUNES TO THE BEACH. THE FOOD IS FANTASTIC, A DIFFERENT MEAL EVERY NIGHT AND ONCE A FORTNIGHT THEY HAVE A SPECAIL THEME NIGHT, WHILE WE WERE THERE IT WAS PIG.THE FOOD WAS SO GO I PUT ON ABOUT FIVE POUNDS WHILE I WAS THERE. THE STAFF ARE REALLY FRIENDLY AND HELP YOU OUT WITH ANYTHING. THE POOL SIDE DOES GET PACKED SO YOU HAVE TO GET UP EARLY TO SCRAMBLE FOR THE SUNBEDS, WE EVEN RESORTED TO TATICS OF THE GERMANS BY GETTING UP EARLY AND RESERVING THE TOWELS. THE ONLY THING I WOULD SAY WAS THAT THERE ARE A LOT OF GERMANS BUT THAT DIDNT BOTHER US, INFACT C'AN PICAFORT IS A MAJORITY GERMAN RESORT, SO BEWARE OF THE GERMAN MENUS. THE POOLSIDE BAR PLAYS MUSIC IN THE AFTERNOONS AND THERE IS WAITER DRINKSERVICE SO YOU HAVENT EVEN GOT TO MOVE OUT OF YOUR SUNBED. IF YOU LIKE CLUBBIN AND STUFF THEN I WOULD GO TO ALCUDIA BUT NONETHELESS C'AN PICAFORT HAS A WIDE SELECTION OF BARS RIGHT ON THE PROMENADE. UNFORTUNATLY THOMSON DO NOT HAVE THIS HOTEL ANYMORE WHICH IS A SHAME AS IT WAS CHEAPER THAN JMC. I WOULD DEFINATELY GO THERE AGAIN.
