Booked up day before i flew...I was really pleased with my accomodation, the food was fantastic...and plenty of choice with many dishes, i enjoyed coming down everyday just for the suprise of the dishes alone...oh and you can't beat the pastries and doughnuts at breakfast (make sure you wear your combats for breakfast for sneaking them out for your lunch)...you get the same table every day, so you can leave your wine/water on the table without worry. I was 1 of 3 english people in the hotel (the only english i spoke to all hol, discluding the rep) which was mainly full of germans/dutch, this was spot on for me as i wanted a nice relaxing hol (to which i got), the pool across the road was never really busy, and there was always a lounger to be had, which are stacked to the side of the poolside bar and took when needed and cleared when not...this was where the germans did not live up to there reputation! the facilities in the hotel were great, although a young family may not suit this hotel (all the same i would return without a doubt with mine, had they a room to house us all) there are things here for them - small park area, mini golf, small pool, coin amusemnts. (i, at 30, felt quite young here)...there are two jacuzzis and a steam room...not for the less inhibited tho', an indoor pool, a large bar area with terrace, and internet access.
I saw the rep once at the hotel (low season for the brits i s'pose), but if needed, there are some reps on hand at The Clumba Mar (5 mins walk away).
The Bus stops out front, on the main road, but if you are going to alcudia way, i would suggest walking down to the stop near the beach, as although it does then proceed to go around the resort and bring you right past the front (25 minutes later), you will get a seat on it, but if caught out front you'll be lucky to get on the bus at all!
In all, if your a couple, whatever age, or even a family, who want a hol away from some of the choice english public...this hotel and resort are for you! This place gave me 100% of what i wanted from my break!
loved it...and I want to live here!

The Hotel Montecarlo really is a lovely hotel. The rooms are bright and spacious and very clean. The maids cleaned it once a day, though only hand towels were exchanged. There is not much privacy on the balcony though as the dividing walls are quite low. If your balcony is facing the pool, don'y expect a pretty view as there is a fairly busy road just beyond the pool. There is air conditioning in the room which is essential.
The rest of the hotel is lovely. There is lots of marble everywhere and plenty of comfortable seating areas around. There is also a gym, though this is fairly basic. I think people forgot that there were jacuzzi's and a sauna on the lower ground floor as they were never busy.
The pool is really nice with plenting of sunloungers. However, by about 9 o'clock it was hard to find one that hadn't had a towel put on it, even though there were only about 3 people by the pool! The poolside bar is serves good food and drinks.
The food at breakfast and dinner is fairly average. There is a wide selection from the usual fried breakfast to cereals and meats. The drink is free at breakfast though at dinner you have to pay. The food at dinner varied. Again there was lots of it but you could usually rely on chips if you didn't like anything else. The soups were delicious and there was always a good selection of desserts ranging from ice cream to fruit and cakes.
The hotel is a 2 minute walk to the beach and the resort centre. The beach operates a flag system telling you whether it is safe to swim and there are always lifeguards around. If you want a 2 sun loungers with an umbrella on the beach, it costs about 10 euros. The beach is never really crowded and it made a pleasant change from the pool.
The main feature of the resort is that it is heavily dominated by Germans. The menus are in German a lot of the time and there didn't seem to be too many British people. There a lots of bars, a couple of English pubs and a few discos. I would definitely recommend going to Alcudia for one evening. The restaurants in the port serve delicious food, there are some good shops and it is a really nice place to visit. There are regular buses that go to Alcudia and are very cheap. The taxis are also very reasonably priced. If you do catch a bus I would recommend that you go to the bus stop that is through the gate in the pool area and across the road. We made the mistake of getting the bus from a stop near the beach and it took an extra half an hour.
I would definitely recommend the hotel, and personally I feel that a week in Ca'n Picafort was just about the right length of time to see and do everything.
