We travelled to this hotel as a group of 2 families with children aged 7, 4, 2 and a 6 month old baby. We had a wonderful holiday, so much so that we are considering booking again and we have never done that before.

The complex is lovely. Well laid out with wide paths and well tended gardens which a team of gardeners are always on the go looking after. The public areas are very clean and a team of maids mopping the paths are out first thing every morning. One thing that I liked about the design was the path running round the outside of the complex which was used by the staff when cleaning the apartments. This meant that all trolleys, cots, dirty laundry etc were taken to the service area without having to go past people out and about in the complex. I mention this as many years ago, when the 7 year old was 2, he was nearly wiped out while asleep in his pushchair by a porter with a large laundry trolley who didn't see him!

The apartments themselves are good. Plenty of space and v small but adequate kitchen. Bathroom a good size though. We emailed the hotel prior to arriving asking for adjoining rooms on the ground floor in a quiet area and we got this so top marks there. We were in Block 3 overlooking the pond, which was lovely. We hired the Toddler Pack and everything was delivered the morning after we arrived. The steriliser was a brand new Avent one.

The pool area is lovely but there is a big problem with the sunbeds. The first week we were there we had no problems getting beds and umbrellas but the second week it turned into a bit of a game. People were out from at least 7am and lots of men seen reading in the sun for a couple of hours (presumably while the women sorted out the kids!). There were signs everywhere saying that towels would be moved but we saw no evidence of this until 2 days before we came home. Lots of people had complained to 1st Choice so I don't know whether this 1 off blitz was because of that or not. There are lots of grassy areas behind the sun terraces which could be used for extra sunbeds and lots of people with babies were using these with those sun tent things. The pools themselves are good. The main one is 1m deep and the top one 1.5m deep. The top one does get used for games etc. The bottom one was used for Swim Kids in a roped off area. This didn't spoil anything though as they are plenty big enough to cope with this. The only negative of the pools is the so called baby pool. In my opinion it used to be a Jacuzzi and they have simply reduced the water level and called it a baby pool! It is TINY!! To say that this is family complex and has a cr

My family and I stayed at the Holiday Village in the Costa del Sol last year so we had a pre conceived idea of what the holdiay would be like. It was not as good as last year's, which was purpose built, but it was in a much better location, so that made up for it.

I agree with all the previous comments on the excellent grounds and cleanliness of the place. The main draw back though was there were simply too many people for the space available.

We were self catering, so we did not spend as much time in the complex as the majority of people, and I think that was the problem. As most people were all inclusive, they did not leave the complex. There was never enough room around the pool, you had to queue the night before to book your children into kids club, and couldn't always get them in (mine only went once in a fortnight because I didn't want to hang around every night to book them in!)

Whilst waiting to book them in one night, we counted 50 buggies outside the restaraunt!!!! Glad we didn't have to eat in there. Our neighbours said it was like school dinners.

There was a nasty bug going around, and I don't think it's any coincidence that it only effected the people who were all inclusive!! Not that I'm saying it was food poisining, but they were all in such close proximity all the time, it spread like wildfire.

On the couple of nights we stayed for the entertainment, there were not enough seats so we had to stand and watch!!! All the entertainment finishes outside at 11pm and if you want to continue, you have to go inside the sports bar.

Luckily it was only a short walk into the town so we spent some lovely eveings in the bars and restraunts along the prom.

We had a lovely room with a balcony overlooking the pool area (block 2), so we finished off our evenings on our balcony with our cheap booze from the local supermaket (Mercadona....turn right after the park and it's after the petrol station....the supermarket the locals use so very cheap!) We could not afford to drink in the hotel as it was 2.4 euros for about a quarter of a pint of rubbish beer!! (28p a can for the local brew 4.8%!)

What a great place.
We were a family of 3 2xadults and 1x4 year old.
We found the whole hotel really clean the rooms were lovely clean and spacious could't really ask for more.

The food got repetitive for us as we are very plain eaters but saying that I'm sure I have put on weight as I seemed to be eating all the time.

The hotel seemed friendly and I found reception very helpful, not that I had cause really to go up there and I found all the reps helpful.

The entertainment was quite good my daughter loved it and if she is happy so am I.

My daughter is a little shy but this year she made so many friends it was hard to keep up with her she went to the kids club and loved it (she has never gone before on past holidays).

The only complaint I did have was when dropping my daughter off at the club they were always a bit late starting as it was busy and that meant that they left the door open and a member of staff was'nt always standing by the door and my daughter could have walked out, maybe it was me being over protective it meant i had to wait around for about 20/25 mins to make sure the door was closed, not really a big problem but it made me worry a little.

When we arrived my daughter wouldn't even get in the pool unleast me of my husband was holding her very tightly, a couple of days into the holiday she relaxed slightly and we taught her to swim with armbands then decided to book her in for swimming lessons, it was the best 29 euros I have ever spent she can now swim without armbands and swim head under the water.

This was such a great holiday I recommend anyone to go there they will not be dissapointed.

We returned from here yesterday and had a wonderful time, although at times we felt we should have had some children with us as there were not very many childless people there.

The apartments are very spacious but the kitchen is tiny we were AI so it didn't worry us. There were the usual things in it microwave, kettle and toaster. There are 2 single beds in bedroom with a standard sized and a smaller (probably only suitable for a child) sofa bed in the lounge. The bathroom was huge with a bath and shower over it and a separate shower cubicle. There were various complimentary toiletries, shower gel, shower cap, comb, tissues and a sewing kit. We had a balcony with table and chairs and a drying rack. Our apartment was at the back of block 3 and the only view was of the main road so we didn't spend a lot of time on it.

The whole site was immaculate and staff seemed to be visibly cleaning most of the day. You can smoke anywhere on the site but I didn't see anybody smoking in the restaurants so I assume they are non smoking.

The food was excellent with plenty of choice, there was cold meats, cheeses, salads, pasta and different sauces, pizza, chips, fresh fruit and ice cream available at lunch and dinner every day. There was also a variation of hot dishes paella, fish, chicken, veal, pork, potatoes in different disguises, vegetables and rice, these changed every day.

There was a choice of 2 different soups every day and sometimes pate, my hubby loved the goulash soup so much he had 3 bowls!!!!! Lots of choice of puddings. They also did a couple of themed nights when we were there, one was a Spanish night with lots of tapas which I loved and a Tex mex which I didn't, but there was still the choice of all the meats and salads etc so I didn't starve.

Breakfast was equally as good with the usual English available as well as cereals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, prunes, croissant, sweet biscuits and pancakes being cooked in front of you. There was also cheese and cold meat available.

There are 2 cold drink stations and 2 hot drink stations where you help yourself to tea, coffee and chocolate. Apple, orange or pineapple juice and Fanta orange or lemon water and proper coke are available at every meal. Hot drinks didn't seem to be available in the restaurant in the evening but you could help yourself to them in the bar once you left the restaurant. San Miguel was the beer on the AI and you just poured it from the pump yourself in the restaurant but not at breakfast!

You get to eat once in the Caribbean grill and once in the Italian during your stay. I wasn't very impressed by the Caribbean but loved the Italian and wish we could have gone there twice.

There are hot and cold drink stations in the pool bar and the main bar where you can help yourself all day long.
Snacks are available from the pool bar and a lot of people chose to take their lunch there rather than going to the restaurant.

Restaurant times seemed to be quite strict, breakfast was from 8.00am to 10.00am, lunch from 1.00pm to 2.30pm and dinner from 7.00pm to 8.30 pm but that didn't mean that you could turn up at the latest time and still get everything, they literally started clearing away all the food at 10.00am, 2.30pm and 8.30pm. I saw a few arguments because of this happening. Whether that will change as they get further into the season I don't know.

This was the 1st week that they had been open and things seemed to be changing as the week went on. There were no labels on the food to start with but they appeared on Tuesday so I think they had a few teething problems in the beginning.

The Complex is a 10 minute walk from the beach and the promenade, we only ventured down there twice and I wasn't very impressed by it and was glad that we were AI. There was an awful lot of Germans about and the restaurants seemed to be mainly aimed at them.

I was informed by the manager that there is 28 First Choice staff on the complex, they were very visible and helpful ranging from resort reps to kids reps to entertainers.

The entertainment was excellent, all the kids seemed to be very happy with their mini disco and games that the reps played with them. This was usually followed by a show of some sort e.g. Grease or an entertainer brought in from outside. There was a parrot show and a knife throwing show and an Elvis impersonator whilst we were there.
They have a resident duo called Powder Blue who played 3 nights in the main bar and 3 nights in the sports bar. They covered a wide range of songs and were excellent.

The sports bar has 4 screens and shows either sports or MTV and stays open until 2.00am. The main bar closes at midnight and AI stops at that time.

This hotel is relatively new and was kept spic and span at all times. We went on an all inclusive basis.

We stayed in a one bedroomed apartment (Block 5) and had a nice view of pine/olive trees from our balcony - it was very spacious, mostly peaceful and above all - safe for kids.

Room was cleaned 5 times per week, and cleaning staff were polite and friendly. Apartments are very well equipped, with a small kitchen/dining area and a good sized bathroom with 2 showers (one over bath). The rooms are spread over 5 three storey blocks, with a large atrium in the centre of the accommodation blocks, sporting various enormous plants. Could be a little annoying if children were in the atrium early morning/late at night, as the huge space and stone floors made the noise echo all around.

Our holiday was only slightly spoiled when our 5 year old opened a bedside cabinet drawer, only for it to come straight out of the drawer casing and land on her big toe. It was an accident, but avoidable in my opinion, as heavy drawers should be more secure.....

The food and drink served were excellent, with a tempting array of desserts served at lunch & dinner. There are 2 pre-bookable "themed" nights available too - Caribbean Grill and Italian. We tried the Caribbean grill, and were pretty disappointed. The food wasn't remotely "Caribbean" and the Waiter (whose English was rather poor) seemed flustered and served us the wrong dishes. Only one of the 4 desserts shown on the menu was available, and we really wished we had just dined at the regular restaurant. Maybe this was a teething problem due to it being the first week, but still, thumbs down for the Caribbean Grill.

If you decide to go on a day trip (we went on the Bus/Boat/Train trip over the mountains and around the island) don't waste your time by asking for a picnic box (we got it free, AI). Our "picnic" consisted of very dry sandwiches, and cold leftovers - only edible part was the apples, which they had kindly packed!

Incidently, this trip (goes over many winding mountain roads) isn't suitable for younger children. It's quite a long time for a child to sit on a bus, and 2 or 3 on our trip were sick.

Location wasn't bad, about 10 minutes from the shops/beach. Beware the roads! Drivers only stopped at the crossing areas on the main road if they were feeling generous!

The vast majority of staff were polite and friendly, only one or two of the waiters didn't quite make the grade. Reps were always on hand and very helpful at all times.
Entertainment was varied. Parrots, Irish Dancers, Singers! My favourite was Fogwell Flax the impressionist (done some voices on Spitting Image, apparently). He was very talented and funny.

I would visit this hotel again in a heartbeat, for it's clean, spacious accommodation and the beautiful grounds within the complex. If, however, you find whining kids in buggies too much to bear - don't go here!

Stayed here with friends in neighbouring apartments 2nd week in May 2005.

Complex was excellent. Everything about the place was spotless. Everyone stays in one or two bedroomed apartments they are big and bright the kitchenette is small but sufficient.

Reps worked hard entertaining kids and organising sports and games for anyone who wanted to join in although there was no pressure on anybody to do anything and with the beutiful pools and comfortable sun loungers it was just right for relaxing and sun bathing.

Being early retired we are regular travellers and we all rated the complex/hotel as the nicest we have stayed in.
As we were self catering we can't comment on the food in the restaurants but didn't hear any complaints from other guests. The snacks however were a bit basic OK for all inclusive customers (Particularly the kids, Burgers and Fries) but expensive for self catering custumers to purchase. A small plate of fries worked out at 10p per chip!! The drinks were also expensive and so we went off the complex most nights.

It is only a couple of 100 yards to the beach and bars and although there is little entertainment in the resort other than Karaoke, Quizes, a few Country singers and a couple of Discos the drinks are all reasonable priced and the food in the restaurants good and again resonable price(Especially the Chinese meals we had three during the week).

There are also several supermarkets in the Town There are some lovely bars on the main drag and along the seafront. Everyone seems to speak perfect English and when we were there the Brits appeared in the majority.

All in all an "Excellent Complex" and an "Excellent Resort".

We were the first load of guests to arrive and were very pleased with the hotel. Very clean with lovely rooms.

Large group of reps always around to help. The only fault was the size of the baby pool, it was tiny for the amount of children that were staying there.

Would suggest to anyone that is self catering, not to eat and drink in the hotel as it works out very pricey.

Just returned from 7 nights all inclusive with a 3 year old and 18 month old. Rooms are very spacious, 2 single beds in bedroom (plus a cot) & two sofa beds in living area (1 is only suitable for child).

The resort and accommodation were spotless, with a highly visible team of cleaning staff.

Overall we did have a nice holiday, but there were a few problems hopefully which are just teething ones and will be sorted out. We'd prebooked the toddler pack but had to wait three days for a buggy and never did get a suntent or baby bath. Apparently they were waiting on deliveries from the UK.

Make sure you prebook the creche before you leave the UK! On the advice of our travel agent we didn't do this (told we wouldn't need to out of season) only to find it fully booked upon arrival. Eventually got two evening sessions which ran from 8-11 pm and cost 25 euros a night.

We did have a problem with the restaurant and I think anyone with young kids may also find this a pain! Childrens' foods (ie chips, beans, nuggets, burgers) were served at a separate session (12-12.45 for lunch & 6-6.45 for dinner). The restaurant then prevented anyone coming in for 15 minutes while the "adult" foods were laid out. If you have kids a similar age to us you will find this a pain, we tended to arrive just as they finished serving the kids so that they didn't have to sit for hours on end while we ate ours.

The creche doesn't open until 8 pm and the bugs club for over 3's didn't open until 9 pm so its not possible to have a meal without the kids either. We were very disappointed about this. PLUS! If your little one will be in a highchair, make sure you take reins! There are no straps and we saw countless parents (us included on the first night) trying to hold their babies in!!

Found the food in the main restaurant got a little boring (never thought my kids would miss vegetables!) although they changed it every day, it never changed a lot if that makes sense??

We may have been unlucky, but we thought the italian restaurant was pretty poor, had to wait over 2 hours for our 3 courses and found a very limited choice and when the food did arrive it was nothing special. The caribean was better by comparison, service was quicker and the food for nicer.

The swimming pools were good and looked lovely but were very deep for small children. The toddler pool is absolutely tiny, the size of a paddling pool and around knee deep. The indoor pool was quite nice, again very deep but much warmer for small children. The swimming lessons was brilliant, I cannot praise Hayley enough, she worked wonders with our 3 year old and was definitely worth the 29 euros.

Beach was around 15 minutes walk away, easy to find but there does seem to be quite a lot of dogs muck on the pavements. Beach was quite nice, sandy but water didn't look particularly clean up by the marina. We couldn't find any public toilets at all, but the owner of the The Old Boat on the seafront was happy for us to use theirs and they were spotless.

Don't bother taking towels, we had plenty in the room and for 5 euros you could hire towel for the pool and beach.

Overall we did have a nice time and I think the issues of the creche and toddler packs and maybe even restaurant will be resolved as more guests come. Visually the hotel grounds are lovely.

Reading back through the review it may sound like we didn't enjoy ourselves, but we did have a nice time. It was a real shame about the creche as it would have been nice to have sometime to ourselves. We would go back, but probably later in the season.
