We certainly recommend a visit in October, still very nice, and not as busy as in high season. The walks along the promenade towards Can Picafort (15 minutes to the shopping and bars area), is beatiful and also the walks in the Natural Park. We also recommend the go-karting, if you like that kind of things, the hotel takes you there and brings you back. And also a horse ride (They come from the stables to pick you up from the hotel). Try the "pamboli" at the bar Puput, its a traditional mallorcan dish, mallorcan version of sandwishes and baggettes.

Stayed at all inclusive resort so didn't venture out much.
Did have to walk through a park to get to the beach and although the pavements were clean when I looked carefully the sand had quite alot of dog muck in it, not great for a children's park
Just avoided the area, the sea front and rest of side streets seemed clean enough.
Not a very busy resort but OK !

We were at Son Baulo which is on the very edge on C'an picafort. Because the entertainment and the food at the hotel was so good we didn't go out much at night, but the 2 nights when we did there were plenty of bars restaurants and clubs for any tastes. Not so much for small children in the evening out - a bungee trampoline mini fair and some bouncy castkles on the seafrontbut then they are tired and my daughter only wanted to be back at the hotel with Jill the hotel entertainer in the mini disco!.We took advantage of the bars though! Trotters was great fun and friendly!

Been here five years running.. This year, surprised how much the pavements and the resort have cleaned the dog poop up!
Lovely compact resort.
Sea far calmer than previous years. Lovely shallow beach which meant you could wander out for ages with the lilo's...
Weirdly I hated Trotters on the beach. Felt shoved in and treated like a number on a conveyerbelt. Better to venture up Via Suisse (?) and get a far more welcome reception from the London Pub and the other pubs up there.

At the side of the hotel is the main street going down towards the beach, this is lined with restaurants, shops and cafes. there is a couple of dr's surgeries down this street. remember you have to pay for a consultation. further down the street is main street going off this street and this also contains more restaurants, shop, cafes and banks and a chemist. at the bottom is the beach front and this is again lined with shops and restaurants (which can be a bit more expensive to eat at) the beach is very nice with plenty of sunbeds etc. on the main street two very good value eateries are the chinese and indian restaurants were you can get two courses for around 8.50 euros. at the indian (ghandi) you also get a poppadum with the dips and chopped onion to start with as an appetizer for free. both the chinese and the indian staff are really nice. drinks are around 1.50 euros for coke or coffee ( i dont drink alcohol so cant review that) i didn't see many 'cake' shops/cafe in the resort but if you persist you will find them (for those cake lovers) i only went on one trip and that was to the sunday market at alcudia (this is not to be confused with port de alcudia) it is your typical spanish market and if your prepared to barter with the stall holders then its for you. i mainly went to visit alcudia itself with all its romanesque buildings. nice photo opportunities. a walk round all the various stalls and then the old town streets is really good and i found some nice cafe/restaurants to be found especially one where they did a three course lunch which included paella for the main course (this was good for me as most restaurants will only do paella based on a minimum of two people sharing and when you go on holiday on your own it is frustrating not to be able to get paella) and was only around 13 euros and set in a lovely old building that seemed to be built inside the old stone surrounds and had a glass floor as you enter the restaurant where you could look down to the area below (a bit like the glass floor at the top of blackpool tower) i dont remember the name of this restaurant but it was down a little side street near the town hall and church. have a wander round you will find it. there are plenty of buses (called the red buses) going to aludia and other surrounding areas locally and also a bus to palma but this would take around an hour and a half to get to. just ask your hotel reception for a bus timetable and these tell you where the bus stops are nearest to your hotel. there are various waterparks etc and you can found guides for these in your hotels. i didn' see much entertainment around the resort but did see your usual singers in restaurants (to bring in the trade) and i believe some of the bigger hotels have various entertainment schedules. if your looking for clubs then there are 2 on the main street and seem to be for the younger crowd. if your a little older then the bars/restaurants/cafes are adequate for your holiday. all in all i would go back again to c'an picafort bt did like the look of port de alcudia as it did seem to have a greater choice of entertainment and restaurants which i saw on my return transfer to the airport. i am sure you will enjoy your majorcan holiday whichever resort you choose. sometimes its a case of 'you pay for what you get' but as always you make your own holiday what it is. enjoy.
