Stayed here for a short break early in October. We chose it because of
A Location and
B Price
The room was described as a junior suite and more than adequate for our needs. 2 single beds, small sitting area with TV and large wardrobe ( for a short break anyway)Bathroom was large , clean and modern with a full size bath.I understand that not all rooms have been refurbished but ours was fine. The beds were quite hard but that was not a problem for us.We requested and got a first floor courtyard room. We were aware before going that these could be noisy as you could hear staff getting breakfast ready. Again this was what we expected and we were up and out early anyway. Rooms are basic but clean. Main lobby is beautiful and the public areas interesting ! Some very scary paintings on the wall. The courtyard is a pleasant shaded area in which to while away the time. There is no bar as such but you can purchase drinks at reception and drink them in the courtyard or take back to your room. Wine around 12 euro a bottle, soft drinks 2 euro. small water 1 euro.
Breakfast is included and is adequate - usual meats, cheese , bread, pastries and juices . The coffee however is freshly made using a "barista" machine and is a great kick start to the day.
Staff are pleasant and helpful. They had the room ready by 11am and dealt with minor issues quickly ( extra pillows etc)
The real selling point of this Hotel however is its location
Situated in an alleyway opposite Bar Bosch ( great for people watching with a cold drink and tasty snacks)at the top end of Passeig De Born you are within 10 minutes of great shops , bars , restaurants , the Castle and Cathedral. We were able to walk to just about everywhere we wanted to see easily although we did use the open top bus to get to Bellver Castle and Pueblo Espanol
For 115 euro a night inc taxes and breakfast it is great value but don't go there if you want luxury
