The hotel is centrally located in Playa de Muro, in close proximity to shops and restaurants and the beach is directly accessed through the very attractive gardens. There was a plentiful supply of sun loungers.
The hotel itself was very comfortable, with a beautiful panoramic restaurant with views of the sea and gardens and there was a busy spa which offered a wide range of treatments. Rooms were compact and spotlessly clean. Most had a view of the sea and/or the gardens.
Hygiene was superb throughout the hotel and staff were very helpful and friendly. There was also a secure luggage room which was great for late departures.
The pool was deep and probably best suited for adults.
Food was very good, with a huge range of fresh dishes and salads. Breakfasts were superb and desserts were delicious.
There was always something tasty to eat but perhaps some main courses were not best suited to British and Irish tastes. But as holiday Hotels go this was very good indeed.
Entertainment was excellent, very good live music, in Spanish, German and English. The bar was great, very relaxing and plush with a great cocktail menu.
It is very popular with German tourists and it's easy to see why with excellent standards of comfort and top class facilities.
It's also very quiet and tranquil and definitely not for young and lively holidays.
I would love to return to this hotel but would not take my children as it's heaven for couples, but I fear children may not appreciate the relaxed atmosphere in this hotel and although there is a kid's club, the fact that German is the predominant language would make it difficult for children who may prefer other English speaking kids to play with.
However as a restful and classy retreat for couples this is a wonderful choice and I'd highly recommend it.

This hotel is part of a complex of three buildings, three swimming pool areas and a lovely stretch of beach.
It could have been perfect but for the fact that it is a thomson 'german run hotel' and is predominantly german so anyone else is definitely left feeling they are the silent minority. Many of the staff did not speak Spanish and the childrens club only spoke German.
The pools were much too cold and too deep for my liking. The one closest to us didnt have any shallow bits that I could stand in! ok so I am short and it is used for diving .The one we went to with slides was nice but again made me nervous because there were so many deep bits and I kept worrying about my children. There was an incident with some stupid older teenagers on the slides but the life guards were excellent, they were spanish.
My husband didnt like all the grassy areas and would have preferred more paved areas my children also got the impression the pools were dirty because of the amount of grass in them.
The entertainment was short almost as if they expected people to go elsewhere or to bed early. Playa de Muro is near Alcudia and Can Picafort, we drove and it was easy to get around but I dont how easy it would be by bus.
I would only go again if it was more multinational and me and my children grew a few inches taller for the pool.
Having said that it does deserve its 4 STAR status and some people might enjoy it.

The location, right on the beach, is superb.
Very popular with Germans.
The food is 1st class (Quality, quantity and variety)and the allocation of a personal table for the duration of your stay removes the usual stuttered entrance at evening meal times.
Only one slight criticism was the poor/slow service at the pool side snack bar. Insufficient staff resulted in long delays to get served.
We have been 3 times and wouldn't hestitate to go again when returning to Majorca.
Ideal for a quiet holiday as the location is right out of town.

The hotel Playa Esperanza is the most wonderful experience you could ever wish for .
Myself and my son and neighbour have holidayed at this hotel twice now and we are looking forward to our third holiday there.
This hotel caters for all age groups and you are made to feel welcome from the moment you walk through the doors.
We find the location of the hotel good because you are away from shops but you are only a few steps away from the beach.
The food is at its best every night without fail and so much to choose from and there is aways plenty so you can tuck in.
The hotel is cleaned everyday and the outside area is well maintained the entertainment is good but it was much better the first time we visited .

Hotel was clean and welcoming with a spacious reception. Hotel grounds are superb, plenty of sunbeds, beautiful swimming pools and right on a private clean, sandy beach.
Bar staff excellent, dining staff mostly good, reception helpful.
The only problem with the location is that the bars are not "Spanish" and the immediate area not very pretty. However Alcudia town is very nice and has a more Spanish feel.
Hotel entertainment was outside, weather permitting, with views over the sea and was very good and varied. Some excellent shows, such as flamenco.
Food very good and plenty of choice, lots of lovely salads and fruits.
Rooms could maybe do with an update, but nice enough and fantastic views if you are lucky.
Plenty of beach towels provided free.
My husband had a birthday while we were there and at dinner the manager brought him complimentary wine etc. Very impressed as we had not mentioned the birthday to them.

WHAT A GEM!!! The brochure really does this hotel no justice, what a quiet little beauty this is and very child friendly. A huge indoor playroom supervised by a mature spanish lady, clean toys, craft activities etc. Great for when sun blazing or rain! Also, indoor pool open even though peak season - great for little ones. Outdoor there are two pools, one formal and one free form - walk through the gorgeous gardens, in your complimentary bathrobe, no shortage of sun loungers, down to the GORGEOUS white sand and sea that is up to your ankles for miles and crystal clear.
This is the widest privatest part of Alcudia beach. The restaurant overlooks sea, food is excellent, buffet. There is a lovely terrace to eat on or enjoy the tasteful and superb evening entertainment (not booming). The rooms are good, the best rooms are corner ones overlooking sea. Email hotel to request one week before you go they can arrange it.
We love this hotel and will definately be back.
