Another great time at this hotel. Food and drink were brilliant. Weather was good but chilly on a night.

This has got to be the best all inclusive 3* hotel we have ever stayed in.
On check in at this hotel we were greeted with a glass of champagne and given an excellent description of the hotel and it's services by one of the very good receptionists.
The hotel manager then come out of his office to introduce himself and tell us that his door was always open if we had any problems.
After 10 minutes of arriving in our room the receptionist rang to see if we were happy with the room. The hotel rooms are of a good size with plenty of hanging and drawer space and the room was kept very clean whilst we were there, with clean towels every day, the cleaners are also very pleasant.
In the restaurants the hot food was always hot, with a very good selection of hot and cold foods. There were 2 sittings for dinner and you were allocated a table for your stay, you could change this if needed for trips away etc; At lunch and breakfast you could use any table. A late simple breakfast was also available at the pool between 10 and 12 this was rolls, cheeeses etc;
There were 3 bars one at the pool, 2 in the hotel open for various hours between 10 A.M. and 12 P.M. There were no limits on the drinks you could get at one time and they were of an exceptable quality. All the bar staff were very friendly only one was a little bit offish!
There were 3 pools,1 indoor ,cleaned regularly with plenty of beds and mattresses available when we were there, the area around the pool was also spotlessly clean.
The hotel is about 250 metres form the beach the last 80 metres on a slight incline. There are beer kellar type bars within 100 metres, we did not hear any noise from these but it was early in the season.
There were a few down points. The bathroom was very small, but adaquate. The bedroom did not have air con only a ceiling fan, no air drier was supplied.
The entertainment was mostly aimed at children or typical of this type of hotel, flamenco, Miss hotel etc; allthough it could be a good laugh especially with the antics of some of the young children.
The other downside is that most of the clients at this hotel are German,Dutch,Spanish or French. The week we stayed there we were the only Brit's. This did not worry us but be warned, also most of the bars are German or Dutch, the only British bars being down by Arenal Marina.
We enjoyed our stay at this hotel very much, all the staff were brilliant(except Paco) and the hotel was excellent,if the hotel was in a different area we wuold stay there again.
This was the first time we had stayed at a Rui hotel and were so impressed by the standards that we intend to try some more of the hotels in the group.

I have recently returned from Riu Playa Park Hotel and would recommend it to anyone, it is located 15 minutes from the airport, and 5 a minute walk to the beach. The hotel was spotless.
I have never stayed in a 3 star hotel that was as clean.
The choice of food in the hotel was excellent and a different variety of food prepared fresh everyday. The staff were more than helpful and made us feel extremely welcome and often asked us if there was anything they could do to make our stay even better.
The entertainment at the hotel was average. Our only problem was that there was only us and one another english speaking family at the hotel.
As a group we thought that the hotel should be 4 star rather than 3 star and the hotel looks much better in reality than it is shown on the web pages!

Hotel was Clean, Staff very friendly and more than willing to help. Food and drink was excellent. Entertainment was not what expected and was aimed at other european guests also staying. Apart from another English couple staying at the same time, hotel is aimed at the more European of tourists.
