On arrival I wasn't too impressed with the room, it was very dated in style, old fashioned furniture and fittings. However, it was clean and freshly painted, and we were very comfortable there for a week.
The position in the resort is excellent, right on the sea front in the centre. You could spend your whole holiday there without walking more than 50 yards!
The reception staff were very helpful and friendly, bar staff ok but could do with more of them.
The only entertainment was in the evening (apart from the world cup on tv!) and took place in the "Lemon lounge" at the hotel's pool across the prom, jutting out into the sea. It is a lovely big pool, but deep- 1.4 metres at the shallow end. We gave up on the idea of getting a sunbed there- think they were all taken by 7 am!
Meals in the hotel were a very pleasant experience- the dining room is attractive, cool and airy with stunning views, and the food was better than we have had in other hotels.
There were some minor complaints that didn't spoil our holiday, but were a bit irritating. Why do guests have to go down to reception for a hairdryer? They were happy for me to keep it all week without charge or deposit, so why not just put them in the rooms?
The balcony doors had no locks and were noisy to open and close, the air conditioning used a big ceiling fan which was a bit noisy, and there were no toiletries or shower caps provided, just a bar of soap.
Our room was on the side of the hotel and had a nice side sea view. It was in full sun during the afternoon and early evening, which made it much too hot to sit out there. The front facing rooms get morning sun, and would have been a much better option, but were not available through Thomas Cook.

We stayed at the Hotel Daina in Puerto Pollensa, Majorca. We had a room on the top floor facing the marina. It was a lovely hotel and we would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone, although it is probably more suited to couples rather than families. We stayed 19-26 April 2006. Would love to return to this beautiful part of Majorca again soon and would stay here again.

The Daina is very central and overlooks the Marina.

The staff are friendly and helpful.

Rooms were cleaned and towels changed every day.

The food was good value for the money and a good selection was available.

Entertainment was provided on Tuesday and Thursday Both trio's doing middle-of-the-road

The Hotel Daina is in an excellent position on the sea front in Peurto Pollensa in town and just at the start of the Pine Walk which is a lovely area. We had a side sea view room which was very nice but in late evening it could be a little noisy. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The hotel was extremely clean. We stayed on a half board basis and the food choices offered in a buffet style were excellent. Meal times were also quite flexible (Breakfast 8 - 10, evening meals 7 - 9. We would definitely stay at the Daina again.

We have just returned from our holiday in Majorca. We stayed at the Daina Hotel which is as close to the beach as you can get. We had a sea view room which was absolutely breathtaking. The room was spotless and was cleaned daily. Our towels changed every other day and our bedding twice during our week stay. The food was plentiful and a good choice to suit most palates.
All staff were friendly and helpful. We could not have asked for better. So much so that we have just booked to go back next October.

We are a middle aged fun couple and have just returned from a stay at hotel Daina. What a lovely hotel. We had a side sea view room which gave us a lovely view of both the harbour and the old town. The staff were friendly chatty and helpful. We enjoyed the excellent food (choice of many main courses and desserts)We came home a nd booked again for 2003 with first choice who in 2003 brochure are offering front sea view room for a small supplement (which we have taken advantage of)We cannot fault this hotel as the location cannot be improved upon (almost on the beach)You have the added bonus of bieng in the town. The pine walk is lovely and you can sit on the terrace and watch the world go by.EXCELLENT
