Just returned from our stay at the Don Miguel appartments. The accommodation comprised one bedroom, bathroom (with bath & overhead shower), lounge area (with sofa bed)/small kitchen area (2 ring hob - no oven)and narrow balcony. The accommodation was fairly basic but comfortable and clean. The bedding was changed once during our one week stay and the towels changed twice. The pool was just across the road from our appartment block. It was well maintained and sunbeds were always available. The staff were very friendly, particularly one of the female receptionists. Our appartment had no air conditioning but there was an electric fan provided. The appartment block is situated in a residential area. There was a bit of a noise issue with other people staying in the block scraping chairs across the marble flooring and being heavy footed late at night. For 2 star rated accommodation we weren't expecting much but were pleasantly surprised on the whole.

The only good thing that can be said about our apartment was that it was clean. Our apartment took the word "basic" to a whole, new level. It was spartan; cold, uncomfortable, sparsely furnished and very unwelcoming. We had a minimal ration of hot water each day, a short supply of thin towels and just 6 thin, dingy blankets to cover 4 beds. Luckily, there was a fan heater which we moved from room to room in an effort to stay warm.
The road outside these apartments is a construction site at the moment and it seems as though they are building a dual carriageway right outside. There were diggers and lorries churning up the pot-holed road most of the days we were there. There are obviously two blocks of Don Miguel apartments as we have read of reviews mentioning their 4 star qualities....dishwashers, satellite t.v.,etc,. We were not so lucky. No t.v. and not even a microwave. This was the longest week of my life and I'm very pleased to be home.

The Don Miguel apartments were very run down.
Broken furniture that should have been in the bin.
Terrible lighting, we had to ask at the hotel Panorama reception if we could have a few light bulbs replaced, and the staff were rude, they sent for the owner, who came with us to the apartment and told us that the lights we had were enough.
There was very rarely any hot water, and travelling with children hot water is a neccessity.
The rooms were neglected by the domestic staff. Towels and bedding were a disgrace.
We ate at the hotel on one occassion, the food was edible, but cold and the waiting staff were unhelpful.
Entertainment at the hotel was a bit old fashioned.
I would never return to these apartments again.
Puerto Pollensa is a stunning resort and there is plenty of beautiful places to stay. I love pollensa but hate the Don Miguel apartments.
