We visited in July/August 2013. Villa Traumantana is perfectly placed for a family being away from the hustle and bustle of the bars and cafes yet within a stones throw of them! The location of the villa is breath-taking. Many a day was spent in the infinity pool just looking at the view!! My only criticism of the villa is that I think it needs a bit of an update. There were tiles missing or broken in the pool - to the extent that my daughter cut herself on these. The en-suite to the master bedroom had seen slightly better days but all in all it was clean and comfortable.

We were very cautious about booking this holiday as the last holiday we booked the business went bust, and we were left with no money and no holiday!!
We decided the risk was worth taking, and chose Puerto Pollensa as our chosen resort for our first family holiday.
We booked via Solmar Villas, following some fantastic reviews.
Upon arrival at our chosen property "Villa Tramuntana", we were in "awe" with the surroundings, even though it was pitch black, the pool area was dramatically lit and looked amazing. The kids couldn't resist and jumped in right away (in true Scottish style!) The holiday fun was quickly halted. After ten minutes of arriving, someone locked the door of the villa when we were all outside, and the key was inside!! luckily someone had a phone and we managed to call the rep who was twenty miles away, she went out her way to ensure someone would get us back in-side, and sure enough someone was on-hand with a spare key!! We still laugh about this now, but hadn't the rep taken us seriously, we would have been spending the night on our terrace, so we couldn't thank her enough.
In the morning, we could not believe our eyes and the views surrounding the villa. The harbour could be viewed straight ahead, as we were pretty high up. The mountains directly behind the villa are spectacular, with the soothing sound of the bells of the mountain goats to be heard from time to time.
There is a very large supermarket within 15 walk, the prices were very reasonably, cheaper than the ones in the town. We walked there and got a taxi back, the checkout girls will call one for you.
Throughout the holiday, my favourite part of the day was when the sun was setting in the harbour, it really was beautiful.
Peurto Pollensa itself was very pretty. There are bars and restaurants to suite every budget.
The beach and pine walk was a small 5-10 minute walk from our villa. The beach was very clean and the waters crystal clear.
There are several boat trips, we went on the Glass Bottom Boat trip, and were amazed to be accompanied by two friendly dolphins. The trip takes you along the secluded villas situated around the bay, I believe Robbie Williams owns one!! This was definitely the highlight of the holiday for me.
The only critisism would be the couches in the lounge area of the villa could do with being up-dated, they did look and feel overused.
There are too many fantastic stories to tell, so I will end it here before everyone gets too bored.
We are already planning to return...., one day soon!!
