It was the best family holiday we have had so far.
Kids are aged 12 and 8, they were begging me to stay there did not want to come home. It is a lovely hotel. you could not ask for better. Weather was great considering it was October.
Am determined to go back there next year some time.
BTW Majorca is a beautiful island - first time we have been. Been to Salou twice and would much rather Majorca - more "real" Spain.

Hotel Room - Lovely, 2nd floor with a HUGE balcony overlooking the pool, good air conditioning and kept spotlessly clean by the very efficient maid.
Hotel Facilities - Nice kids club, good evening entertainment crew although their miming skills werent the best but my 7 year old loved it, nice poolside bar where the prices seemed comparable to most cafes and restaraunts.
Get up early for sunbeds as the Germans were up to their usual tricks. They do have extra ones indoors if you ask but there was a lack of parasols.
On the whole a great hotel and we would definately go back.

When we arrived at the Vista Badia we were greeted by a porter who took our cases and escorted us to the reception desk. The reception staff spoke excellent English and check in went smoothly. When we got to our room, again escorted by the porter, we were amazed at its size and how modern and clean it was. The apartment consisted of a bedroom with two good size single beds, a well-appointed bathroom with a bath/shower, sink, bidet & toilet. The hair dryer has also situated in the bathroom along with 4 bath towels, 4 hand towels, hair/body wash for the shower and hand washing soap next to the sink.
The lounge area had two seats that turned into the kids beds. These beds were already made up for us when we arrived and we left them that way for our time there not bothering to strip and remake the beds every day. The kitchen area had a table and four chairs, microwave, two ring electric hob, kettle, toaster, pots and pans, cutlery and crockery, sink and fridge with small ice box compartment complete with ice cube tray. There was a fresh bottle of water chilling for us in the fridge for our arrival and a large bowl of fresh fruit too.
The air conditioning in the room was great. It had two separate thermostatic controls for the main living area and the bedroom. To enable the lights and air conditioning to work you had to put the key card for the door into a slot. The air conditioning would also turn off if the patio doors are opened

We were self catering due to a picky eater!! our 13 year old daughter. Menu always looked very good though.
All areas of the hotel were very clean.
The location of the hotel was about a 5 minute walk to the main bars, resturaunts and shops etc. We had a few meals in the Kings Head but we found it got very very busy and we got the feeling they wanted you in and out quickly, the food there was good though.
Our favourite became The Bristish Baron it was good food and they were very friendly, to be truthful it doesn't look much from the outside but give it a go, and I promise you you'll go back.
Going back to the hotel the staff were friendly right the ground staff to the entertainment staff.
The entertainment was put on by the animation a few times and there was also professional acts it lasted till about 11.30ish then you could still drink till 12.00.
We enjoyed our stay at the Vista Badia so much that we are going back this year.

Probably 70% german and 30% english guests but no problems as they were their for a good holiday as much as we were.
Try and request a pool view otherwise you may overlook the carpark, although outside entertainment was around the pool and went on each night until 11.30 ish.
The entertainment was average and probably not enough for kids during the day if you want a quiet time yourself, especially 7-13 years old.
Very nice place and would go back.

We like the mix of different nationalities as if it is all British it seems to get very rowdy, people should try and mix with everyone it makes for a much better holiday and more fun even when the activities are on.

The Vista Badia is perfecty located about 400 yards from the centre of Sa Coma with the beach another 200 yards further down the road. Rooms were clean and tidy with 5 times a week maid service and air conditioning (which is a definate must!). We were missing a toaster and microwave in our room but these were supplied as soon as we asked. There was poolside entertainment with an evening show every day which it would have to be said was rather poor. Unless, that is, your idea of fun is watching a dutch entertainment crew miming to various musicals whilst wearing silly costumes. Strangely, the germans (who were well represented in the hotel) seemed to love it! I suppose you have to enter into the spirit of these things when you`re abroad so for comedy value it was watchable whilst enjoying a bottle or two of `san miguel`. The show finished about 11.30pm so even though our 3rd floor room looked directly over the stage the noise wasn`t a problem.
Similarly, the kids club was over run with german kids. In fairness, the reason for this seemed to be simply that the British kids weren`t interested. I had a look one day and it did seem to be a nice well run club but our 5 yr old wouldn`t participate due to the language barrier.
In Sa Coma, there was a SPAR shop right next door to the hotel which was quite reasonably priced. In fact it was actually cheaper than the main hypermarket for most things. The best eating spots we found were Es Passeig and Salvator which were next to the SPAR. They were cheap yet good quality, both Spanish owned with excellent service. If you want english grub theres no end of bars that are much of a muchness in truth. I found the whole resort to be very reasonably priced. Typical bar snacks are about 4 euros (omelette, chips and salad) and I struggled to finish them the portions were so big. A bottle of beer or a glass of wine was around 1.4 euros (

All areas kept spotlessly clean including the spacious apartments. Because we had booked direct we could all keep our rooms for a late check out without incurring any charges, apparently the Thomson reps charge

As for Sa Coma itself, well it's a very "Pie and Chips" resort and we only found two decent restaurants. One of which was the El Sol, which had both excellent food and service. If you've ever been to Puerto Pollensa, do not go to Sa Coma, S'Illot or Cala Millor. You'll be sorely disappointed.
