We ate at most of the restaurants in resort Las Dunas we thought was a bit on the expensive side,

The staff were very friendly and helpful.
We were there for two weeks and were sad to have to come home.
We had no problems with the sunloungers, probably due to the time of year we travelled but the weather was fantastic.
A car is a must but dont hire one from the hotel. Use one of the car hire companies that are located by the shops.

Las Dunas which is the restaurant across the road and owned by the apartment owners is a bit basic and the length of time it took to get served was a little on the long side, but the entertainment here was reasonable for families.
Rooms were cleaned and towels/linen changed regularly.
Nice pool spoilt only by inconsiderate sunlounger usage. Every day a large contingent would place towels down, disappear to the beach until the afternoon - then return to claim their beds. If you did spend all day by the pool as we did with our children this was more than a little frustrating as there are notices to say towels will be removed but they are not. Annoying as it was, I had to join the early riser brigade just to get beds making me just as bad. Come on First Choice reps - sort this out!
Es Pins restaurant is recommended, not so much for the food (which honestly is samey everywhere on the resort)but for the location looking over the sea whilst the buffet at Sol Menorca is well worth a visit, though for younger children who are fussy eaters (as all 3 of ours are) there was not much choice.
I would highly recommend these apartments and resort for families with younger children as it is very clean, safe, quiet and the one road into and out of the resort carries very little traffic.
Would we come again - not sure. Not as a reflection of the apartments or resort, just that we like to experience variety - saying that if our kids have anything to do with it we might just return next year.

Shops close by .
Staff seemed very friendly and helpful, only downside was I thought there should be more entertainment going on.,and Idon't go on holiday to get up early to get a sunbed so beware the sunbed hoggers.

Have previously visited Menorca twice (both times to Arenal d'en castell) but wanted to try a different resort this time.
Chose this resort purely on beach & quietness. Well we've already booked for 2007. To be honest I am a 'beach babe' and this beach did not disappoint.
Beautiful stretch of white sand, sparkling blue water, great for kids as wasn't very wavey, and plenty of space on the beach, this is not a Benidorm style beach where you are all upon each other and getting sand flicked at you by another's family, I found my own spot and had loads of space around me. I think the beach is a huge plus point at this resort.
Don't go visiting this resort if you have teenagers, there will be nothing for them to do whatsoever. This is a very quiet village resort, no usual English style pubs/cafes, just what we wanted! This is a resort that has a 'dead end' so the traffic was minimal, and was so 'worry free' to that extent.
Entertainment was about a minute walk to a complex across the road, so was fabulous in that you don't have the normal loudmouthed holidaymakers parading around the apartments after a few beers! The entertainment complex was great, a restaurant with inside/outside bars, pool tables/air hockey machines for those older kids, and a nightly schedule of entertainment - i.e. disney night, disco night, etc, etc. We loved it here, our kids are 10 and 7.
Apartments were great, very good self-catering facilities, had a microwave, 4-hob cooker, with electric oven & grill. We ate in a lot of nights as this was a holiday 'on a budget' and somewhat last minute.
Hadn't realised these apartments were air conditioned (guess I didn't read brochure details too well) so that was a pleasant surprise. Apartments come with a large balcony with table & chairs, and we ate out here most nights. To eat out was pretty much on the expensive side, though probably no more expensive than eating out in UK. Drinks at poolside bar equated to about the same as UK, 1/2 lager about

The weather was great.
Food was hot and the beer was cold!
See you next year!!
A special thanks to Zec, Isabella, Juan, Keeley, and the one and only Nico.

They bang on about Menorca being part of a biosphere but then keep the hot water at about 75c which is far too hot and could save a lot of energy, and subsequently environmental emissions, by reducing this temperature.
The beds hadn't been cleaned under for a while - nice!
There were not enough kitchen utensils for a self catering holiday and some oven shelves would have been a bonus! The oven takes an age to heat up aswell.
Right grumpy maids if you do not let them in when it suits them - but we were still in bed at 8.30AM, on our holidays so maybe I'm being unreasonable!
Hire a car!!! A must!!!
The local 'supermarket' was very over priced and not greatly stocked. Get a car! It is a great island and I reckon you could justify the cost of a car for the saving on buying food! That and the cost of trips youre on a winner. We paid 120E for five days and just one excursion to El Torro was 20E each but when you get there it is free admission etc so do the math!
Nice little pool with bar/snacks, no problems with loungers.
The resort itself is quite pleasant but don't expect too much to do in the evenings! Its very quiet. But hey! get a car a go out - it makes up for it. However it is reasonably clean.
The beach was mediocre - go to Son Bou for the beach it s much better.
Wouldn't rush back to Santo Tomas but would go elsewhere!

The first thing we noticed about the Mestral apartment was the size...it was really spacious, really big balcony, reasonably sized room...you certainly weren't tripping over each other.
Also, as we were self catering we were expecting the usual 2 rusty rings to cook on, imagine our surprise when we discovered an oven, and a microwave! Huge fridge/freezer, toaster, kettle, plenty of plates...was really impressed.
Definately the best apartment I've ever stayed in on a self catering holiday.
The pool was nice, got really busy though, and rarely could you get a sunbed...especially when we were needing 5.
