This was a surprise holiday for my husband's 60th Birthday and turned out to be perfect.
The hotel was between Placa Catalunya and Placa Universitat. Easy walking distance to everything. Metro close by. Gravina was very nice and clean.
We did not have breakfast in hotel so cannot comment. There are plenty of restaurants and also cheap places to eat nearby.
We had a room on the front with balcony (which I had requested when booking) and although small, it had everything you need: large double bed, TV, fridge, nice bathroom with bath and shower, tea/coffee facilities. Toiletries and coffee/milk etc. were replaced every day as they were used. The sheets and towels were changed every day and the whole room was spotless.
The hotel staff were very helpful from booking tourist bus to theatre tickets.
There is also 2 computers in front lobby with internet access which are free of charge.
The only thing that was not ideal and which has been mentioned in other reviews of this hotel is that the sound proofing is not good. You can hear people talking in the next room if they talk loudly. And their drains need sorting out - must admit there was a bit of a pong (we put a plastic bag over the floor vent in bathroom which helped a bit). It's a pity they did not do anything about that when it was refurbished last. The building itself is very old and the front interesting (like so many properties in central Barcelona) but the interior is modern city hotel standard.
We would definitely use this hotel again as location is ideal but perhaps not recommend it for honeymooners (!).
