The bungalow itself was lovely with a lovely roof terrace overlooking the golf course and beach. Eerything in the bungalow was clean and modern and the air con was a god send with the kids!
The poolside restuarant was lovely to look a but the menu was terrible. Very limited and the drinks quite expensive. As was the on site supermarket.
The staff was scarce and the place was desered in december. Most nights we were the only ones eating in the complex so we decided to venture down to the restureant lined beach front which was very expensive but so beautiful. There was no entertainment what so ever. We were so bored at night!!

The bungalows are spacious and have lots of storage space with good size kitchens which are well equipped. The patios and gardens are nice with good quality garden furniture.

The swimming pool was clean but the sunbeds are poor quality and in short supply and because of the layout of the complex your apartment can be quite a walk from the pool. There are far too many steps in the complex making it difficult for young children.

The complex is only a few years old but showing signs of deterioration and lack of upkeep. The week we went there was no entertainment either in the day or night and everything seemed to shut down at about 9pm.

Most of the apartments seem to be lived in on a permanent basis which feels strange when you are on holdiay. It did not feel much different to staying in a 2bed mid terrace house on a new housing estate in the uk - except for the weather and the pool.

We stayed at the Bahia Meloneras Bungalows for 2 weeks and loved every minute. The apartments were bright, spacious and clean. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and the fridge freezer was big enough for the fortnight's shopping.
The apartments have their own patios and garden to the front and a drying yard and entrance/parking space to the rear. The pool is a nice size with a smaller childrens pool and has a bar close by.
The onsite shop is very reasonable with good opening hours. If you don't fancy cooking, the restaurant is great with a good variety of dishes on offer.
We didn't really see any entertainment, but it was the first week of season.
All the staff were friendly and the room cleaners were brilliant.
The apartments are quiet, good for those wanting a quiet, relaxing holiday. The main shops are a little distance away but the walk along the promenade is one of the most beautiful walks I've been on, if a little steep on the return! Taxis back there are cheap enough if your legs can't take it. Being a bit more out of the way, as the brochure said, means that if you're looking for a bit more action, it's not the place for you. We would, and will, return without hesitation. (we tried last year, but it was fully booked!)

This was our second visit to this complex. If there are more than 4 in your party then the villas are ideal. They are equipped well for one or two weeks stay but don't expect too much (most brochures are accurate). They are cleaned every day. The onsite shop is okay and prices are about the same as local supermarkets. If you have a car then I suggest that you head to the hypermarket, which is about 20 minutes away.

The pool area is excellent (although it does need a lick of paint).

The onsite restaurant is also excellent value for money and they do have entertainment on a couple evenings during the week. (try Saturday's BBQ night - get there early).

We travelled with First Choice - and took advantage of the online deals.

Excursions -

Definitely try the Reps evening its very good and cheap (£7) you should also try the Horse-riding (book at reception £26 for 2 hours)

We stayed at Bahia Meloneras for two weeks in October 2005 and, (apart from the first day) we had a really good holiday!

First thing to tell you, is that, if you go expecting to get accomodation that looks as good as it does in the holiday brochures, then you may be a bit disappointed when you arrive!!!

There are only about twenty of the bungalows with a pool view on the complex, and you won't get one, as these have all been bought, and now have Spanish residents living in them!

More likely you'll be allocated a bungalow that looks onto the back of other bungalows!

So then, once your in, you'll find the bungalows are very clean and quite spacious as well, much better than your normal self catering apartments!

When you go outside, you'll find a nice big swimming pool and plenty of sunbeds to soak up the superb weather!

There is an on-site resaurant that is reasonably good, but service can be really very slow and the cats that walk around looking for scraps quite annoying at times!

There is virtually no entertainment at Bahia Meloneras so if your looking for more than just a sunbathing holiday you might be pretty bored here!

Another thing to mention is that this hotel caters mostly (about 90%)for German guests and other spanish visitors, and you'd be lucky to hear another English/Scottish voice while your there.(we only met two other british families in the whole fortnight we were there).

Meloneras itself is going to be a lovely resort in time, (we plan to go back in about three or four years) as there is a golf course currently being built and a newly opened shopping centre,(but most of the units are empty just now!) nice beach 200m, or couple of minutes stroll down from Bahia meloneras, and nice promenade that takes you along to maspalomas and the sand dunes!

Good points: nice accomodation, superb weather, lovely resort.

Bad points: No entertainment, No english TV channels, location very quiet, and a bit out the way.

Overall I would definately go back to Meloneras, but personally, I'd prefer a different hotel that has some entertainment on.
