We tried the restaurant on an evening for the first time and found the food to be OK and the service good. Reception service was good and we had no problem arranging to stay longer in the apartment for a late flight home.
All in all, a good, relaxing holiday again.

However we were very disappointed with the Green Golf Apartments. They were in desperate need of a refurbishment and the last occupants hairs were evident all over the place!
Unfortunately our neighbours next door and opposite slept through out the day and were extremely noisy through out the night - obviously not bothered about disturbing everyone else sleep including children.
We were told the golf club next door did good Italian food - we went but left after twenty minutes as the staff in the bar/restaurant were so rude.
Having visited the show at the Casino Hotel in San Augustin before I would highly recommend it - its a very good show (Arabian Nights) Taxi there & back was just ten euros.
Ryan the rep will get the tickets for you - taxis are easy to hail and stop outside the casino hotel.
The Broncemar 11 restaurant at Faro 2 is also very good and the Green Golf staff could learn alot from the brothers who run Broncemar 11 as they were the most unhelpful staff I have ever come across they obviously are not happy working at Green Golf.
We will return but not to these apartments very out of date by todays standards hopefully the staff will be more friendly next time.

Bungalows are basic but have just had revamp we had a 40e voucher in March for (I think) any inconvenience there might have been as they were closing in April, but there wasn

The bungalows are very basic, you have to hire everything but the whisltling kettle when you get there, including the tv! Our bungalow was not cleaned every day and was a bit grubby. We didnt use the pool area as it was so quiet and no parasols to shade under, the pool looked like it could do with a scrub.
In general the staff here are no more pleasant than they absolutely have to be. As for entertainment forget it, take some good books and the travel scrabble!!!!! Nothing going on at all, no music by the pool, nothing to do in the evening. Luckily taxis are very cheap so the location of the hotel didnt really bother us.
Cheaper to buy your shopping from supermarkets in town rather than the shop at Green Golf.

If anyone is thinking of going there.....INSIST on a Sun Facing Apartment.
We stayed in an apartment ( like a lot of others ) that got no sun from morning till night.
Others ( facing the Golf Course) have all the sunshine.
We stayed from 1st Jan05 for one week.
Rooms were cleaned every day with clean sheets and fresh towels daily. Rooms are basic and are on a split level. Downstairs ...kitchen and lounge area and then pretty awkward (with suitcases etc.,)to go up a very narrow stairway to Bedroom and bathroom.
As I said YOU MUST INSIST on a Sun facing apartment...you'll regret it if not.
The location to the beach is another set back but there is a Courtesy Bus which runs every Half Hour from outside the apartments to Maspalomas and Playa Del Inglais. All in all....just O.K.

The cleaners came in 3 times in 2 weeks and the sheets were changed one. Although it was December there were still cockroaches about in the bedroom and downstairs loo.
The food was repetative and they also served up the day before's leftovers re cooked on occasion. The location was not too bad but it was a 20 min walk to anywhere or the free bus.
Entertainment was repetative with only one outside entertainer in 2 weeks. There was some major health and safety issues like jagged metal sticking up from the ground near the pool bar which took 10 days for the caretakers to remove, and broken tiles dotted around the place.
Although we had a nice time due to the very nice people we met I personally would not go to this particular hotel again.

We were however pleasantly surprised on being directed to our bungalow with the delightful pool and patio/garden areas.
Our bungalow had evidently had new kitchen units, and although the accomodation was relatively basic itwas completely satisfactory. With a wonderful pool area, good restaurant and supermarket on site.
The location is good, free transport being available taxis cheap and abundant, and Faro 2 shops and restaurants 5 minutes by foot.
Oh, and the golf course is only 5 minutes to the 1st tee, and although not brilliant is typical of Canarian golf couses.
We are already planning our return in 2005

The only downside to this holiday were our room guests, hundreds of ants in the apartment, and the cleanliness of the bathroom area. The bath was cracked, water didn't flow away, and the sealing around the bath looked very dirty and grubby.
The management doesn

Entertainment on the complex was very disappointing with lights out in the bar at 11.15. just when guests would like a bit of dancing. Nothing for children or teenagers who just hung around the pool table. The staff were very helpful and I believe the lack of imaginative entertainment was due to the restrictions of the hotel management.
Maspalomas itself is a purpose built resort and there appears to be a lot of building taking place and is likely to become busier. Tourists catered for but if you are looking for any old bars, spanish influence, then we could not find any.
Despite the disappointments, we had a great holiday, met nice people and the weather was wonderful.
