This is the worst hotel we have ever stayed in. We booked allocated on arrival in a 3 tick hotel. We wouldn't even give it 1 tick.

The only good thing was the staff who were very helpful and friendly.

The room was shabby and dirty with plaster falling off the walls.

The food was awful. We ate out most of the time after trying the food which was cold and inedible. One evening we waited for forty minutes for the main courses to be filled up but nothing arrived.

The kids disco also took place in the restaurant so we had to listen to kids party music at full volume whilst we tried to have our meal.

Entertainment was very poor. Ok if you like bingo and karaoke.

Location was terrible. Nothing there but one restaurant, two supermarkets and a couple of all inclusive hotels and the rest of the resort was residential. Bungalows on a hill and had a five minute up-hill trek to reception.

We wouldn't go back to this hotel if it was the last hotel on earth.

Urrrggghhh! From the minute we rode up the beaten track I had my fingers crossed that we weren't going to be dropped off here. We took the risk of doing an AOA and we got jipped!

This isn't a holiday resort. It's a mini prison in the middle of a residential area, inaccessible to any where.

Sure the view from the end of the pool was nice, but in that heat you didn't stand a chance of being able to physically walk anywhere, it's all miles!

We were put at the very bottom of the complex and had to walk the painful 10 minutes up steep steps to the reception/pool/shop/life. That walk included not getting hissed at by the god knows how many cats on the complex and not annoying the RESIDENTS! who actually live on the complex (and no they didn't seem to like holiday makers)
The rooms are very shabby and dated so you didn't even have any comfort once you got away from all the hassle outside.

We stayed exactly 24 hours before we were moved. 2 females in the middle of no where and at the bottom of the complex was very forward thinking by the holiday company when we were allocated on arrival. We had to pay Direct Holidays

We went all inclusive to this hotel and it was a big mistake. The food was cold and not edible at all.

The first night we arrived we went the restaurant for dinner, I helped myself to plate of food brought it back to my table, the meat...it was stone cold, I then asked the waiter if any hot food was going to be brought out and his reply was that there was a microwave if a wanted to warm it up. I was disgusted. My girlfriend refused to eat anything, even though we were all inclusive we went to a local restaurant for something to eat.

The accommodation was very basic. The only entertainment was one Spanish man who couldn't really speak any English.

We saw the rep for my travel the next morning to complain and asked to be moved to different hotel, in the end we had to pay an extra

When we first arrived at the hotel we were very disappointed at the appearance and location. After a couple of days and once we had settled in we were quite happy with the hotel only down side was location.

We went out most days and evening so didnt take advantage of entertainment, each evening we arrived back the room had been thoroughly cleaned and the staff were friendly.

Overall if you are an elderly couple or family who dont really venture out of hotel much then you should be quite happy to stay there during day and evening.

The Vista Dorada is an all round value for money hotel with an easy going atmosphere.

The staff cannot do enough for you and the reception staff are fantastic.

The bungalows are built into a hill. The lower apartment has a terrace and often a garden, the apartment set above it has a large balcony. Most bungalows overlook the valley which is very busy with traffic and lots of lights -quite spectacular at night. However, there are apartments which overlook the pool and a separate area which appears to be quieter.

Although we booked self catering, we changed our minds and through reception were able to take half board. Very cheap. 309 euros for the two of us for two weeks. The food is exceptional with different themes each night. A litre of wine only 6.90 euros.

This is the second time we have been to the Vista Dorada and I would go back a third.

The apart hotel vista dorada was a fabulous hotel and even though the rooms were very basic it was very clean. There was an onsite supermarket which was very handy.

The restaurant served beautiful food. The two entertainers 'Carlos and Alexis' made my holiday more enjoyable.

The pool was larger then I intended it would be but it was rather cold.

I will definitely be returning to the vista dorada, the service we received was fantastic, and we were very much helped by all members of staff.

We stayed at this hotel over the xmas period and it was allocated to us on arrival. We were slighty dissappointed with its location , as we are used to being in the thick of things. Although they did have a lovely pool.

Our bungalow was very comfortable and kept very clean throughout our stay. The bungalows do tend to be spread out(on a hill), so it is best to ask for one near the pool area or you could be carrying your suitcases for miles. A porter to assist with lugguage particulary late at night would have been helpful or even luggage trolleys.

The staff were freindly and very helpful, particulary the reception staff. Without Luci at receptions helpful advice we perhaps would not have seen as much of the island as we did.

Puerto Rico was a great resort although a 20 min bus ride away and the Atlantico shopping centre is well worth a visit, as there are many bargains to be had.

We were however very dissapointed with the entertainment at the hotel, for example the evenings entainment started at 8:40 and was done by 10pm (even on Xmas eve).

This was particulary upsetting as there were no other options for entertainment in the surrounding area, so bed was a good option.

The weather over our weeks holiday was good and we did come home with a bit of a tan.

I visited the hotel in Nov 2004. The premises is officially a 1 key aparthotel. The reception is quite clean and tidy but unfortunately the dining room, the cutlery, the crockery are very worn.

The meals are self service buffet and I found the food quite inedible. I also found that the plates cups etc had not been properly dried!

The room was very basic and I and the the entrance door was actually through the balcony.
I had to purchase insect killer as the room was infested with ants.
They seemed to live in the cracks etc in the plaster and behind and below the loose tiles.
