Stayed at this hotel on recommendation by friends. Spot on. Spotless rooms and pool area, well maintained grounds, food was outstanding, friendly and attentive staff. The location was good.
We will definitely stay here again!

We went here purely for a complete chill week and thats just what we got.
The food was outstanding.
We had stayed at the Riu Palace Maspalomas a few years back which had an official rating of 5* the Melonaras had an offical rating 4* but we thought it was better in every way.
We booked one of the villa rooms which are in little blocks through out the grounds. I e-mail the hotel before we left and asked for a room that got the sun all day and thats just what we got a ground floor villa room in block 5 (5081)
The staff couldnt do enough to help and nothing was too much trouble, the maid put fresh flowers in our room each day which was really nice to come back too.
There are a few shops bars and places to eat varying from snack bars to posh nosh places but we only ever had lunch out becuase the evening meals were too good to miss, we never even ate at the grill which was inculded in the HB rate.
Only thing I can say bad about the holiday was it was too short and drinks were not cheap.
We just didnt want to come home and would deffinatly go back

Flew out on New Years day to have some sun befoe going back to work. Booked TC Select and got complimentary drinks etc on the plane then picked up by limo at the airport. Very quick transfer. Arrived at hotel and was very impressed with reception area etc. Asked to sit in bar while they checked us in. He did not mention that this was our welcome drink so we ordered our own.
Slightly confusing as no table was laid out with juices or bubbly etc however when the bill came we asked if they were complimentary the waiter then realised and apologised.
Back at reception we did feel a bit lost as no-one was guiding us in th right direction. The manager apologised he had forgot to come and get us.
Anyway we went to our suite - situated around the pool in blocks of 6/8. Honestly we were gutted. The room absolutely stank of cigarettes - the previous occupant must have smoked their duty free before they went home!!
We all walked back to reception and requested a fresh room which the manager endevoured to find us. He explained we could have on the next day but tonight we would be in the main hotel. This room was nice, big and clean pleny wardrobe space minibar etc.
Next day we were put in a fab 2 bedroom suite with large lounge area balcony etc. All this time our bags were taken for us from room to room no problem at all. Fresh flowers, bottle of wine all on arrival then somes roses later on in our stay.
Dining room is very good. You are given the same table each night however you can sit wherever for breakfast.
I shall start at breakfast or shall I say breakfeast.
This place just has everything on offer. From cereals to pastries and fresh ommelettes to caviar. The chefs and staff are fab. They will make you special ommelettes and smooties. Also a glass or 2 of fizz to wash it down. They are always clearing and resetting tables so you never have a problem getting one.
Tip - grab a juice on the way in and put in on your table before you go for food this saves alot of funny looks when a stranger sits down beside you!!
Evening Meals - Awesome - Changed nightly with food from all over the world. Prawns were endless. Quality was 5 star. The chefs at the show cooking are really nice and will do you something different if you want.
We went to the 6pm sitting. Only because we snacked at lunch to save ourselves for dinner.
Poolside - Really nice landscaped grounds kept nice. The pool was kept immaculate. We were in the pool everyday - the far away pool is a good size to watch the kids in. Plenty loungers with mats and pool towels rotated daily at the towel hut.
This hotel is really well planned and set up for everyone.
Kids club set in the garden which my daughter really enjoyed.
Bars - You can sign a tab or pay as you go. We got good use of the poolside service - they walk round and take your order and bring it back to you at the lounger - bliss.
Evening Entertainment - We only saw it a couple of nights but it looked good and professional ,changed themes each night.
Nice flat walk along the front either way when you come out of the hotel back door.
Busy restuarants and bars but not crowded in a rowdy way just popular.
We all loved this hotel and would definately book again and again.....

I stayed at this hotel with my family and it did not fail to disappoint. The reception was gorgeous and set the theme for the rest of the hotel. The rooms were basic but nice and clean, the bathroom was modern, spacious and the maids always provided clean towels on a daily basis.
The pool was lovely and clean, the staff exceptionally friendly and always well mannered.
The food was fabulous, everything you could wish for on the menu, breakfast was especially good, setting you up for the rest of the day.
The location of the hotel was on the sea front close by were shops, bars and restaurants in small quantity. The resort itself ideal for a quiet family, it is not rowdy and this was especially pleasing.
Would 110% go to Riu again.
