The Sunprime Riviera Beach and Spa is one of two hotels (infact the only hotels) in the Playa de Cura resort.
The hotel is situated on the beach with an access gate to the beach along with showers to get that bit of sand off! The beach has a lifeguard all year round so you can bathe in safety.
The hotel only has 155 rooms and is set in gardens and several large decking areas with sun loungers.
The pool area is wonderful, the main pool is large and has a Jacuzzi attached as well as 6 massage sun loungers situated in the pool which offer a relaxing water massage. There is also a splash pool and a pool solely for those who want to swim!
There are 3 types of sun lounger. The standard lie down lounger, a more comfortable orange lounger and a bed style lounger with pillows. There are plenty of loungers of all kinds. Some of the loungers are set on the hotels own man made beach within the complex and the rest are in the smart decking area. Each lounger has its own parasol and some are situated in the garden area for constant shade.
The rooms are well appointed and very modern. Each room has a sea view shower, a strange concept but it's nice to shower whilst admiring the view of the bay. The shower is very nice with several settings and hydro massage features.
Each room has its own electronic safe, a free bottle of water, a bottle of welcome wine, a microwave, a full cutlery set, impressive and comfortable sofas, satellite TV on a new LCD TV, a free fridge, and goose feather pillows and bedding. The rooms are large and despite the open plan arrangement have privacy.
Each guest recieves beach towels, slippers and robes.
The hotel also allows you to keep a card in the electrics slot of your room so you can keep the air con flowing which is a bonus.
Food was excellent, wide range of choice, including an obscene amount of fruit, cavas, cereals and the usual cooked and pastry selections for breakfast. The waiting room staff and the Chef's are very friendly and like to joke and talk to the customers. The prices for drinks are also very reasonable.
The hotel predominantly caters for Scandinavian guests, infact its owned by Thomas Cook Scandanavia and there's no British tour operator presence, all the staff are multi lingual and incredibly service focused.
There wasn't much in the way of entertainment, a few atypical hotel singers though the hotel ran an extensive fitness programme including water aerobics and it's full gym and spa treatments. The gym was free but the spa treatments were at extra cost.
The hotel also operates its own shop selling pretty much everything you'd need on holiday.
The hotel is spotless and constantly being cleaned or its gardens attended to.
Overall this was an excellent hotel offering real high quality service and A* room and pool facilities.
(n.b - the hotel is adults only)
