We stayed at the H10 Playa Meloneras Palace in September 2011. They have the rudest and most unhelpful reception staff of any hotel I have stayed in, do not stay here if you are disabled and wish to be treated with respect by the manager or reception staff.
We booked a room with a walk in shower and were not allocated it; the manager blamed the tour operator. Eventually we were given the only room with a walk in shower but were told that we would need to change to a non-adapted room 2 days before we left as he had other important guests coming who had booked it.
Location is quiet but a walk away from shops and the busier bars.
Entertainment was the same every single night, apart from a couple of times when they had a tribute singer. Did get tired of hearing the music man and agadoo every night even over the road from the hotel in another bar.
We had items stolen from the room and the manager brushed it under the carpet and kept saying he was investigating the matter however he did nothing and could not be contacted the day we left. My friend had to use the revolving door in his wheelchair as the night reception staff had locked the main door (at 11.15) when his chair got stuck instead of coming to help I witnessed the receptionist nudge his partner on reception, laughing at the scene and walked off.
The food however and the restaurant staff could not be faulted and the housekeeping and bellboys should be in the receptions jobs as they are 100% more helpful. I have stayed in better 3 star for customer service in Gran Canaria.
A very nice hotel however, totally ruined by the reception staff and manager / assistant manager replace them and it would be perfect.

We have recently returned from our first family venture into 5* hotels (previously we have stayed at some fantastic 4* hotels)How disappointed we were with the food in this particular hotel. The actual building/surrounding gardens/rooms were excellent. Plenty of sunloungers and pool towels-faultless. The food was another matter altogether-5* it most certainly was not! Bland, undercooked are words that are being overly generous. The tables were often not set, crockery was chipped- need I say any more? Had we realised this then we might have just risked going B&B and investing our money in the excellent Ciao Ciao restaurant located on the nearby beach. In fact that is where we spent most of our time when we were hungry- or having recovered from the stomach upsets that the hotel food gave me and my husband!!!!!!!!!
