Having just returned from staying at the Tequise Playa All Inc, I agree with other reports that the hotel is tired, looking in need of a lick of paint, and carpets well worn but the room was very clean and pleasant to look at. The bathroom spacious could do with new tiles etc but there was plenty of towels and cleaned everyday.
Hotel food was good much better than some of the hotels we have stayed in and being all inc we could have international spirits, cocktails wine etc.
The pool was great but some people were putting towels out very early in the mornings (old habits die hard) and am ashamed to say Brits were at it too, there was no need as there was plenty of loungers to go round and plenty of space. We didn't try the pool "baltic"
The staff were very helpful and no complaints whatsoever we were quickly booked in and a bellboy took our luggage on the trolley so no lifting cases around.
The entertainment was ok about 3 good shows but only on for about an hour the rest of the time it was resident band or a quiz but in all fairness it was winter months and hotel was not full and yes we would go back to this hotel again.

We are just back from our second visit to the Occidental Grand Playa Teguise which will be our last as we feel that the Resort has little to offer us. If you want amusement arcades to send your young children to and wall to wall

Occidental Grand Teguise Playa Hotel, Costa Teguise, Lanzarote.
My wife and I booked a last minute, one week break, to this hotel with our local travel agent, based on the fact it was a 4 star hotel.
How could our choice be a failure when staying at a hotel called 'The Grand Teguise'and found in a 'prestige hotel' brochure.
On arrival at the hotel, the frontage was very impressive which made us smile and feel very pleased with ourselves.
Once you step into the hotel its very impressive also, which made us feel even more pleased with ourselves, and with the aid of very helpful reception staff, we were quickly booked in and went of to find our room.
As we approached the room we began to wonder what we were going to find because we noticed that the corridor carpet was in need of a good cleaning.
When we entered our room, we found the room clean and tidy but in need of refurbishment.
For breakfast and dinner the meals were 'International' due to the various nationalities staying at the hotel, so don't expect what you have at home to be the same here while on holiday (although another guest we talked to did expect this) and there's plenty of it. I'd find it stange if you didn't enjoy at least a couple of dishes each night.
The staff were friendly enough, although, while we were sitting having our dinner, I was chastised by the wine waiter for removing the receipt for our drinks from between the condiments on our table and putting it in my pocket.
The heated pool, ha ha. I understand its climate controlled but it was only for the brave when we were there.
The entertainment staff tried hard and should be praised for their efforts, again nobody was forced to do anything they didn't want to.
Not wanting to make a mountain out of a molehole, it would be suffice to say that to regain the essence of a 4 star hotel, some money must be spent on refurbishment as there are other 4 star hotels within the area waiting to take business away.
On the questionaire I filled in before I left I said I would return to the hotel, but on retrospect I don't think I will as there are other 4 star hotels within a 3 euro taxi ride of Costa Teguise to choose from.(at least not until I've heard its been refurbished)
In my opinion, the Grand Teguise doesn't quite live up to its name, and, I fear, it my be living on its past favourable reviews. The hotel needs to push forward improvements to regain its 4 star excellence.

A great disappointment, this was supposed to be a Thomas Cook Select hotel but it failed to live up to expectations.
The rooms are very small and in need of considerable TLC (although the hotel claims a recent refurbishment). Room air conditioning almost non-existent. Carpets in hallways were filthy and stained.
On several occasions room service trays were left abandoned in corridors.
The restaurant food was adequate but uninspiring. Having to queue each evening just to get into the restaurant rather spoiled the effect. However, the Italian a la carte restaurant was good with attentive staff.
In general, the hotel staff were helpful and tried hard to make up for the hotel's many inadequacies. The entertainment staff were very good and joining in was well worth while.

We have just returned from a 1 week stay at this hotel.
Hotel is of a good standard generally, but there are some minus points.
Hotel rooms are in my opinion tired looking and in need of refurbishment, although they were kept spotlessly clean. We had a sea view (as have all the rooms) but the room was on the small side with a cot.
Pool area was fantastic.Loads of sunbeds(no fighting for them at the crack of dawn!).One pool was heated and shelved in gently, ideal for our toddler.Great paddling pool for kids.
Hotel catered well for kids, plenty of highchairs in dining room , cots, fun club and mini disco at night.
Food was at best average. They recycled food a lot(as do all hotels) but did not try to disguise the fact eg carrots at breakfast!!Poor choice of food, coffee awful and fruit juices at breakfast were synthetic. Bar is great and drinks reasonably priced.
Nearly all of the guests were either older couples or families with very young children.
We met some lovely people and had a good holiday. All in all the hotel is good ,but if I had paid top whack I would have been gutted. We booked this hotel and flights separately and saved a fortune.
Location is pretty poor.Costa Teguise is tacky and uninviting.Nothing to do except visit various sports bars etc.

This was our 5th stay at the Tequise Playa and it gets better although the carpets especially in the corridors need replacing.
Food is buffet or the italion rest but we stayed with the buffet which we all found great and well stocked.
Pool area is lovely and we never found problems getting sun bed and brollies together nice facility is the small beach just outside the back gate.

Although this hotel is quite old the standard of accommodation was very good.
The rooms were very bright and offered everything you required. Towels were changed twice daily if necessary.
The bar area was sophisticated and the service was excellent, nothing too much trouble, drinks were reasonably priced compared to some local bars.
The pools and area kept clean and offered plenty of sunbeds at any time of the day, towels were supplied with a small returnable deposit.
These are all the positives the big negative was the restaurant and the quality of the food supplied.
The food itself was extremely poor and would in our opinion struggle to reach a two star rating. The choice was pathetic and monotonous the dining experience lacked in every area, resulting in people rushing their food.
