My only gripe is this hotel is not very friendly towards people with limited mobility as there are no lifts at all. This makes it rather difficult when arriving and leaving the apartments with your cases. etc. even more of a problem if someone in your party in a wheelchair, buggy etc.
Due to the reports we had read on this site, I immediately inspected our apartment, and found it to be clean. Even the crockery was spotless.
Although we stayed on a self catering basis, we did eat in the restaurants a few times and found the food to be of good quality and very well priced.
The situation of the hotel is approx. 2 Mins walk from the sea and opposite is a small shopping centre, which houses a few small bars and restaurants. Although we were local to main part of Costa Teguise there is not a great deal to do apart from take it easy. Which is perfect for the kind of holiday we required.
However, the entertainment in the hotel is fantastic. Lots going on all day, entertaining all ages. Including the adults.
This hotel is a definite thumbs up. No complaints at all. Do not be put off by the previous reports.
Go on. Enjoy yourself.

We arrived at Los Zoccos and were given a room on the top floor of block 3, which was pretty good although whether they would have been able to accommodate us in high season is anybody guess.
The room was spacious and well kept, furniture o.k. the kitchen area was good with a kettle and a toaster which both looked new, crockery and cutlery were all o.k. I am pleased to say the bathroom was also o.k
After reading the reports we took with us some bug spray but I am happy to report we did not see anything to use it on, it may have been because it was December plus there were no carpets in the room. Looking round the complex If I had not read the reports I would not have thought there were any difference between the blocks as they all looked good to me.
About the complex itself, it is quite big with lots of sunbathing area, lots of sun beds, (but while we were there not to much sun). There is a large onsite club which is quite decent, but does not do much in the way of entertainment, the children

We arrived at Los Zocos about 10pm and despite telephoning and e-mailing a request for the new block was given an apartment in block 2. The first room was so filthy I would not have left my dogs there. We complained to reception who were rude and threw the keys at us to another apartment. Not much better, a cement mixer outside on the patio and the room dirty. Again dragged our cases to reception who in no uncertain terms said nothing they could do. Slept in our clothes. The next day found a rep who eventually managed to move us to yet another apartment. Dead cockroaches on the floor and filthy. We were promised that a maid would clean the room. This did not happen. Were awoken in the night by my daughter whose bed was covered in cockroaches. Spent the night trying to get of them. Next morning found another rep who after some arguing managed to put us in yet another apartment which can only be described as adequate. Christmas day ruined.
I am no snob but do expect cleanliness from 3*+ accommodation. Although self catering by Christmas night too tired to walk anywhere to eat, so ate in the restaurant, what a mistake, the food was cold and digusting.
The entertainment I found poor, the bar staff and hotel staff exceptionally rude and unhelpful and the first choice reps condescending, apart from one who was helpful.
On New Years Eve the hotel even tried to charge us the equivalent of

On returning to reception to ask for the other bedding (sheets, blankets and pillows with pillow cases) we were again greeted by a sour faced receptionist who said "i will contact the maid".
We showered and changed for dinner. After 3 more complaints we got our bedding at 11.30pm.
The meals were cold and some were items were still frozen. We had too warm our meals up in the microwave and the gala meals were a complete joke.
The entertainment changed from day too day and was repeated from week to week we spent most of our time in the pool room playing bingo and having quiz's.
We would not visit this hotel again and not recommend it too anyone.

When we walked through to the complex we were really disappointed as all the communal areas were dirty and in need of general repair. The stairwells leading up to the apartment had broken tiles, glass missing froms panels and bags of rubbish which had been left in walk ways. When we entered the apartment we were disgusted at the state of the place, firstly it had dirty smelly stained cord carpet on the floor, which we thought odd as it is usually tiles,as we looked further we saw that the sofa was all staind the kitchenette cuboards were falling off the wall, the lights in the bedroom did not work, the bedding looked dirty the place was just a mess.
We went back to reception to complain and was given another key to a second apartment which was even worse than the first one, this one looked like it had not been cleaned for months there were patches where worn carpet had been cut out and replaced with odd carpet, again there were no lights, the room was just a mess.
We went back to reception again with the hope that our rep could relocate us to accommodation that we had paid for. The rep said he would do his best but we would have to stay at Los Zocos that night at least, we agreed but not in the apartments i had been shown.
The rep got us another key from reception to one of the apartments in block three which were a lot cleaner, had tiled floors etc, but were still not 3* plus. We did not get to move hotels and had to suffer the full 14 nights.
We went out of the complex most days but one day my son wanted to go in the pool, when we arrived at the pool nearest to our block there was a sign on one side of the pool saying do not use as there is broken glass in the water, this was only displayed at one side of the pool, over the other side there were children still jumping in. This pool was left for over two days without being cleaned.
I would not recommend these apartments to anybody and I will not be going back there again, even if it was free.
Thank god we were self catering.

The reception staff are also friendly and helpful. The pools are clean and well kept but very cold. We only tried the breakfast, but were impressed with the selection and quality of the food. Especially with 4 fussy kids who want to try everything.
The entertainment was great especially for the kids. With things to join in with most of the day. The beach is only 2 minutes away and there are many many bars and restaurants within easy walking distance selling food from all over the world.
My 6 year old grandson took very ill, with broncitos and needed to go hospital urgently, for steroids and oxygen. We could not have got better treatment anywhere in the world.
The reception staff had a doctor to him in minutes and the doctor took him in his own car to a private hospital in Puerta del Carmen. Thankfully he got better and enjoyed his second week.

Just got back from a weeks holiday at Los Zocos. We stayed on the top floor of the new block and found nothing wrong with the cleanliness of the rooms, they were thoroughly every time. Note we did go during the low season so I assume they had more time to clean the rooms also we didn't have the problem with cockroaches some people have mentioned. We didn't hire any equipment like toaster or kettle but must mention we had to pay for the TV which was a bit of a con. Rooms had combination safes so that was handy but cost 14 euros (at the time) plus 10 euros refundable deposit.
Both swimming pools were fine on the whole, we found nothing wrong with them. Saw them being cleaned every morning (it can get windy at night) so that was a good sign. We didn't have much contact with the staff, but when we did there was nothing about them to complain about.
Didn't try any of the food there so can't comment on that nor the entertainment provided. Basically we used the hotel as a base and it served the purpose well. Don't expect 5 star quality from a 3 star hotel.
The location was good, a small shopping center opposite which had a good choice of places to eat and browse around. The beaches were very close by just beyond the shopping centre. Having had a look at other apartments nearby everything was on your doorstep. If you fancy having a look around the island (there's plenty to see) then there are leaflets for tour guides dotted around so it's worth picking one up and seeing what's on offer besides the beach. You can also get around on the buses if you're really feeling upto it. A bus to the other main resort of Puerto Del Carmen makes a good day out, buses there run every 20 mins and very easy to catch. This bus goes through Arriecife which although not a tourist attraction can be worth a visit. It's worth noting the bus stop is about 30 mins away from what we think is the main shopping street, just walk towards the Gran Hotel (you can't miss it) and then some.
The Teguise Market on a Sunday is also worth going to, plenty of stalls selling replica goods, don't be afraid to haggle, the stall holders expect it. Don't rush to buy things there as you may find the same goods in the corner shop.

I asked for us to be moved to block three. Reception staff were matter of fact and told me to come back on Saturday....
I had little faith on the staff until we met Leslie Garcia who is Guest Liason manager and she sorted it in minutes.
We moved to Block three and it was like a different hotel. Modern bathroom, clean rooms, no roaches and well looked after. if you could guarantee block three i would recommend the place, but since blocks 1 & 2 are soooo rubbish its a lottery and do you want to risk your hard earned on a gamble thats supposed to be a rest?

We noticed when taking a bath that the water came out yellow, on the last two days we had ants in the bathroom and kitchenette which in my view was very small and wouldn

Rooms was on second floor of block one. Was clean and not too tatty, had recently been painted and bathroom was good.
First day of holiday was a problem when work was been carried out to replace pathways and the entrance to our block was being dug up - they hit major problems with pipe work and at one point we could not get in or out of the room. First choice reps did look at it and confirmed it was a building site but did nothing! Hotels (English) customer services manager was excellent and did her best to sort the problem. It was a pity that work took as long as it did and the TV was put on free of charge and we didn't have to check out of our room until late on our day of departure. It did become the talking point of the block during the week.
I think that although the problem was unforeseen it was a concern that the 2 rooms we were shown as alternatives to move to were not to a very good standard and appeared tatty and tired. We didn't move room.
We all enjoyed the food that was on offer for all inclusive customers. The menu was different every day and we ate in the Mirador restaurant food was always hot and not dried out and staff were always happy polite and friendly.
The kids club reps were excellent and our children really enjoyed their time at them
We didn't go on any First Choice excursions as they all seemed really expensive and we didn't like the 'welcome' sales pitch at the start of the holiday but we did hire a jeep for 4 days and got around the island ourselves finding some great beaches and seeing all the sites of Lanzarote ourselves.
We all enjoyed the holiday and can see that Los Zocos if trying to improve its accommodation it will be interesting to see what another year will do for the resort!
