Very good hotel in the centre of Costa Tequise. Food very good, staff first class.
Hotel has recently been refurbished and the rooms are of a high standard with plenty of space and good facilities. The maid service is good but can take a long time to get to your room. On one occasion it was 17:30 before the room was serviced.
The outside area is compact but there always seemed to be sufficient loungers but where the hotel is lacking is that there are no outside tables or chairs. If you have difficulties with loungers the only alternative is to acquire a chair from the pool bar; which incidentally doubles as late breakfast and lunch restaurant.
The inside space in reception is spacious but once again very limited seating. The bar and evening entertainment are is on the first floor above reception. This area is small and can get quite hot. The bar service is excellent with a two drink per person policy. This at first seems restrictive but it does ensure that the queue moves quickly. The bar is small and it is the only night time bar in the hotel. There is a very small terrace adjacent to the bar but it is small with very limited tables and chairs. If the entertained is not to your liking or it is too hot indoors there is nowhere else to go. The evening entertainment was generally good probably because it was bought in rather than the in-house team.
The food was very good and plentiful right until the last minute of opening. The restaurant it's self was clean, the service was good but the restaurant lacked character. It was at basement level with next to no natural light with plain white walls. It was a place to eat and leave.
The main problem I had with the hotel was that the air conditioning did not work well in any indoor area, including the bedrooms. This is a major problem from my point of view.
Over all the are more positives than negatives. The hotel star rating falls somewhere above 3 star and below 4 star, if I had to choose I would say 4 star because of the room quality, food and service.

This hotel is the old Puerto Tachie Apartments and has been refurbished. It re-opened in April this year. It had been opened 6 weeks before we arrived.
We enjoyed our stay and would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.
Reception is very efficient and check in is was quick. Staff at this hotel are some of the very best we have come across all are friendly, all chat and most will go the extra yard for you.
Pool area is quite big and is kept very clean. There were adequate sunbeds & parasols when we were there but it was only about half full. Water is freezing compared to the temperature in the sun.
You have a main restaurant which is downstairs and used for breakfast and evening meals. There is a pool bar with a kitchen which serves a late continental type breakfast and hot food at lunch time. Wine, beer and soft drinks are self-service in both, you can have shorts in the pool bar but they are waiter service. The quality of the food & drink is good in all areas.
Evening entertainment is held in the piano bar area and was the usual mix of parrot show, show dancing and the odd Duo, some good, some bad. The entertainment team did put on 1 show but as there was only 2 of them they struggled and I really felt for them as they were 2 very genuine hard working people. Drinks are available until midnight.
The daily activities were only French boules, squash, keep fit etc and normally there was only 1 entertainment person there as they both have 3 days off per week.
We booked a standard room which was OK but smallish. It had 2 beds a wardrobe unit, a dressing table with chair (no mirror), 1 easy chair no sofa as per brochure and a fridge with only water supplied.
Air Con was only just adequate and it was not that hot when we were there. There is no bath here only a walk in shower.
We had problems with no hot water in our first room and after 5 visits to reception, 4 visits by engineers we were finally moved to an upgraded sea view room on the fifth day of our 2 week holiday.
There are some apartments where the bathroom windows are overlooked and they have no blinds or curtains. Although the glass is opaque when the bathroom light was on it was like looking into a plain glass window, a right peep show. I hang a bathroom towel up to save the wife blushing. The bedrooms were kept very clean and towels, sheets etc changed regularly. Rooms are in 6 blocks and have ground, first and second floors. All have balcony or terrace.
There are no lifts for general use in this hotel and the restaurant is down one floor and the pool bar is up one floor. On asking about disabled access I was told there are lifts but they are goods lifts and they would use these for the disabled if asked. This fact was not advertised and many people struggled with the stairs. I also wonder what the insurance situation would be with people using goods lifts.
Access to the rooms could also be difficult for the disabled. Block 6 would be OK ground floor only. Blocks 1-4 ground floor only but these are below pool level and there is only 1 ramp. Block 5 would be impossible without using the lift access and going via the piano bar.
Some of the steps/stairways in the grounds need handrails and are badly lit.
When we booked the holiday the hotel was advertised with 2 Al A Carte restaurants, a gym,2 pools, mini bar and a British type pub attached.
None of these existed, 1 restaurant is supposed to be opening shortly (tapas). The gym room is there but has no equipment (supposed to come in June). There is only 1 main pool and a kid’s paddling pool. There is an attached pub but it has been closed for years.
There was the odd whiff of sewage, but this is Spain!
If all the facilities are put in place and the standards kept up this will eventually be a very good hotel.
The hotels access for the prom, beach and centre is very good.
We went with Thomson / First Choice and found the Rep never comes here but goes to The La Galea Hotel next door.
In spite of the above faults we enjoyed our stay very much and will definitely stay here again.
