The Apartment was ok curtains in the sitting room were ripped, the handles on the cooking pan was loose when picking up the pan with food in it spun over.
The rooms were on the same street where residents lived reving cars and loud music most of the early evenings and nights.
The reception was open for two hours in the morning only the lady was not helpful at all, when I wanted to hire a room for a extra day owing to a late flight home she said there was none, on checking with staff I was told there was 15 rooms empty, on arrival there was a note on the reception door giving guests a telephone number to ring and then sit around until she arrived.
The pool was small and very deep not ideal for kids.

This was my second time at Puerto del Carmen and I wasn't disappointed. I still love it here and would go back again.
The apartments are rated as a 2* +, but these are more like 3*.
The accommodation is very basic, but suited our needs - a place to sleep. The apartments are very clean with maid service almost every day and new towels every 2nd or 3rd day. The apartments are very secure, double lock on the door and bars on the outside of all the windows. All the apartments have a safe, which is payable at reception - only 12 euros for the week, a television etc is in the room which you have to pay for and there is a good sized fridge/freezer.
I wasn't too impressed with the pool, it didn't appear to be that clean and it was very small. we had friends that were staying at the Balcon del mar so tended to be at their pool for the duration of the holiday.
with regards to location, these apartments are ideally located. You are only a 2 min walk from the beach, the atlantico centre and the main strip of Puerto del carmen where all the pubs, restaurants etc are. Although you are very close to everything, it was still very quiet at night.
There are two supermarkets on the same street as the apartments, one directly opposite and one further down on the right hand side. Both are reasonably priced, but as always shop around for your drink and cigarettes. If you want to buy perfumes and aftershaves, the best deal we got was at charlies next to mcdonalds.
Eating Out:
Found lots of lovely eating places. went to LOS MARINEROS restaurant at the old town harbour where you get a fantastic meal and the waiters/waitresses are very friendly. If you like steak try the chateaubriand. On average we spent 40 euros a night for the two of us. This was for starters, steaks, and alcoholic drinks (approx
