This property was 'sold' to us by a timeshare promotion company as brand new, luxury 5* accommodation. Never!! Once you were through the reception area (as big as a football pitch but totally wasted), luxury went out the window. Our apartment was very favourably sized and very clean, but very run down with cracks all over the bathroom and scratched furniture. Apparnetly this place was actually built in 2003. Kitchen was lacking in usable equipment, kettle plug was burnt and never replaced although reported many times. Fridge had to be replaced and you couldn't see over the concrete balcony. Golf del Sur was a lovely resort with a good choice of restaurants, not many shops though but you could get a bus (sometimes!) into LC or PDLA if it came along.

Golf Plaza Spa Resort, Golf Del Sur, Tenerife
Hotel building is quite good. Reception is imposing but the chandaliers and fountains do not work.
Our apartment was very mixed in quality. Kitchen and bathroom were very nicely done, living room and bedroom were plain. No light over dressing table only one overhead light and bedside lights too far away to be any use.
When we arrived (on a Friday) there was no plug for the washbasin. It took 5 visits to reception and 4 days to get one! Meanwhile we wasahed in the kitchen sink.
The food in the restaurant on arrival was extremely poor with virtually nothing available. The same thing for breakfast the next day. Poached eggs (not fried) that were congealed into a large lump.
Golf del Sur is a quiet, spread out place. Not a lot to do.
Hotel staff were friendly but could not always get things done.
Evening entertainment consisted of Spanish dancers, jugglers or Bingo(!) in the Piano Bar (open only from 9.30pm to midnight each day) The bar is on the ground floor and looks like a wartime bunker. Long and thin with concrete pillars supporting the ceiling and lots of armchairs round the edge. No atmosphere at all.

Went to the golf Plaza on a whim, won the holiday with tspromotions, was very wary at first but all was excellent.
The staff at both carpe diem and golf plaza were very professional.
The hotel is a new complex with everything you would possible need, very clean and modern.

The hotel was lovely but the location was very far away from PDLA so you either had to face a very long bus trip or hire a car which adds considerably to your expense. It's very quiet vis-a-vis the nightlife but very noisy because it's on the main airport route and airplanes are constantly flying over the rooftop of the hotel. There's not much to do here, so if you're a young couple looking to enjoy the nightlife then give this hotel a miss. If you're an elderly couple looking for somewhere to relax and you're a tad hard of hearing (to block out the noise of the overhead planes) then this hotel might be ideal for you. The staff couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful though.
