We loved our stay at the Palms. The 2 bedroom bungalow we stayed in was fantastic with everything we wanted. The air conditioning in the bedroom was fantastic and a real god send - it will be hard to stay in another apartment without it!
The complex was once timeshare and is now privately owned and the one we rented was very well furnished and clean with everything we needed.
The complex gardens and pool was so clean and well looked after. The Palms has certainly come a long way since it was timeshare. The complex bar was great and the staff fantastic - very recommended, they also had great entertainment every night with a fantastic bbq on Wednesday nights.

Obviously these were self catering bungalows and we can only make observations about the bungalow we stayed in.
As these properties are individually owned the cleanliness is down to the owners choice of cleaning companies. Ours was not very good.
With regard to location you have about 15 mins walk downhill to the Marine and sea front but uphill challenge on the way back which takes a bit longer.
With regard to staff, there are none only the bar/restaurant on site and there are a couple of gardeners who keep the grounds in very good order and also maintain the swimming pools which again were always very clean. There is no reception on site. Word of warning, if booking these bungalows make absolutely sure what you are getting. We were told we had sky t.v. but all we could get was Sky News which reported the same news every 15 mins, Men and Motors and about 4 shopping channels.(Just what you want on holiday). I know you don't go on holiday to watch TV all time but occasionally when you have been out all day it is nice to relax with a channel you can watch. Forget BBC, ITV or the likes. There was no dining table or chairs. There was a breakfast bar but no stalls so we could not use the bar.
The meals we did have in the apartment we had to eat on the terrace because that was the only place that had a proper table and chairs. There was no safe for valuables. On a positive note we had plenty of hot water and a car parking space right outside the property.
Please understand that other properties on The Palms are better furnished so please make sure before you book.

The Palms Golf & Country Club itself was far from the standard that you are lead to expect. The complex itself was run-down and appeared to have been for some time, as can be gathered from the abandoned original reception hall and pool bar and furthermore shoddy state of complex walls.
The apartments themselves were also nothing to shout home about. Firstly we ordered double bed apartments, we got an apartment with a double bed and one with 2 single beds. The management

We are timeshare owners and chose The Palms Golf and Country Club from the RCI Community Guide. This was our first time in a timeshare property and we were expecting something really nice. Unfortunately the Palms is far from the standard we were lead to expect. The Palms must have been lovely in its prime. Sadly those days have long gone. Our apartment was very run down, dirty and in desperate need of refurbishing. It was very spacious, with two toilets but we had a long list of complaints. These included:-
Broken mirrors on the wardrobe sliding doors (very dangerous)
Dirty and scratched sink/draining board
Very dirty and smelly dishwasher rendering it unusable
Damaged/half melted lampshades
Top of glass coffee table unsecured (very dangerous)
Dirty skirting boards and walls
Disgustingly filthy exterior drinks dispenser on fridge (so bad mould was forming)
Cigarette burns on bedside table
Plaster/paint coming off patio walls
Bathroom in desperate need of refurbishment
Salt/pepper dispensers and chopping board very dirty
If you, like us, have seen pictures of this place on the internet that made it look four star and new don't be fooled. At one end of The Palms is a huge building that was supposed to be the reception. This project was abandoned and now the building is unused and its windows adorned with graffiti. One of the pools is empty and waiting for repair and none of them are heated (as advertised). A large fountain pool with ornamental frogs is empty and in need of repair.
On the plus side the on site bar/restaurant is nice and the food that we ate from there was good. The pools and areas around them are very clean.
We were deeply disappointed with this hotel.
