We were at Tenerife the year before so we had a good idea of the area before we went this holiday. These apts are not in Costa Adeje as such but on the outskirts of a small fishing village called La Caleta. It was lovely to see this as it is still quite Spanish but you could practically hear the bull dozers coming - which is quite a shame. It is a very quite area and if you like the beach there is the Duque beach about a 10-15 min walk which is lovely. Not much to do at night beside the apts but a taxi rank outside ensures you can travel along to Fanabe frontin about 5 minutes, for about 5 Euros. Smashing!

La Caleta is a relativeley new developement with only one hotel and is about 3 miles from the main playa de las americas and the veronicas. We found it very clean butit is a very quiet place and the hotel is situated over the road from the sea. There is no specific beach nearby but outside the hotel is a small man made beach area which is very nice with a circular bar where it is great to watch the sunset with a cold beer. The beach was clean and tidy with sunbeds at a small cost. There is no entertainment at all nearby. There are a few shops and pubs which run quizzes etc but nothing else really. There are 3 excellent restaurants nearby 2 of which are on the rocks with a great seaview. They are a little more expensive but the food was excellent with a vast array of fish and meats.
We think this is an ideal place for older couples who like to relax in quieter surroundings with quiet walks and no noise. However if like us, you like a few nights out then just jump on the bus and you are in the heart of the nightlife within 15 minutes. Try Amandas Bar where we found the entertainment first class and the beer relativeley cheap ( Possibly time of year). We found the food when we did go out was plentiful and cheap and there is no lack of bars and restaurants.
We have had 3 great holidays there and will definateley be going back for another 2 weeks in 2005. We would recomend this place to older couples but if you have kids then there is not a lot for them to do.
