The resort of Roquetas De Mar is lovely and clean, I did not see any ants or cockroaches either.

The entertainment on this resort is pretty standard. Few bars with bingo, karaoke, live singers etc or you can opt for the Spanish bars. Everything closes at Midnight.

The beach is sand/shingle but very clean. There are miles and miles of beach and it never seems crowded. The sea can be a little rough and they operate a flag system.

Would definately visit this resort again. It was just the holiday we wanted with our young son. Very Spanish, which we loved along with the local wine & tapas. We had a lovely, relaxing, feel-good sunny holiday.

Roquetas de mar is a lovely resort, very relaxing with a spanish feel to it. We found the people to be very friendly. The nice flat walk along the seafront was very inviting. Although it was very hot most days there was a breeze which kept it comfortable. I would certainly recommend it for older people and couples with young families.

The area is very safe without loud pubs or discos and if you want to eat out there are restraunts nearby - the beach is very clean but is a mixture of sand and shingle. Entertainment is a little limited as this is a fairly quite resort. People are friendly and there are a lot of Spanish holiday makers - It helps to speak a little spanish.

The town of Roquetes has a lot of building work but this is 2 miles from the hotel. Some of the seafront bars and restraunts are a little expensive but cheaper than Brighton! - Easy jet has just started to fly to almeria and we noticed a lot more english people there this time.

the walk along the prom is very relaxing and you can if you like walk through the park to the next resort - Take water and catch a taxi back

There is not much to do in Roqetas de Mar itself but if you hire a car there is fantastic scenery and places to visit in the surrounding area.

The harbour though is a great place to go and sit with a coffee and just people watch and the sea food is fantastic although expensive.

The nature reserves are woth a visit as there are flamingos.

We found the resort to be very clean. The resort entertainment that we saw were the gorillia park which was situated in the middle of the resort near the sabinal hotel which was a fun park for children there were also bars in the centre and on the beach although we never used them.

The beach was huge and stretched for miles it was very clean and most hotels that were situated on the beach had a section with sunbeds and parasols that could be hired. The only down side was that it was very shingly and uncomfortable to walk on.

Boring resort for teenagers but better for under 11s. Absolutely nothing for teens to do after one or two days as they will have done it all. No discos. Area is boring too and unattractive. We hired a car but there is nowhere to go once you have driven around the mountains but the villages are tiny and without local shops. Vicar market is much like any other market.
No chance to drink on the beach unless you walk to a restaurant.
Cheap resort though, you will be hard pressed to spend much money.

Although again like the accomadation the resort appeared very clean and tidy, dog mess can in some back streets be regularly overlooked for cleaning, sewers smell, and broken bottles and other mess falling from bins can lie for days before being cleaned up. Traffic signs, roads markings and pedestrian crossing points are all oblivios to the local drivers who regularly ignore all of those listed and scooter, moped and various other wheeled vehicles driven by youths can pose a real hazard. This resort by all accounts, outside some of the large Hotels could be referred to as dead. It appeared that the resort is still a very popular Spanish retreat and no effort is appearing visible to attend or cater for the vast majority of British visitors, except for small number of british owned or run bars/cafes, grossly understaffed and overworked. A resort I will never visit or recommend unless vast changes are made.

This has to be cleanest beach I have ever seen, it is raked and swept every morning, the promenade is clean. But this is resort Spain for you. Roquetas is typical of a Spanish resort, mainly because a lot of Spanish go there for their breaks, a good indication that all is well.

I liked the resort of Roquetas De Mar, it's still very Spanish. But unfortunately there are a few British bars about, but not many. There's plenty of other bars/cafes/restaurants in the resort, but we didn't use many as we were half-board. The Arena Center is only about a ten minute stroll to the lovely, long, wide beach, which is sand/shingle. There's plenty of bikes to hire in Roquetas De Mar, but we found it was too hot to go cycling round! Although we did hire a quad bike for an hour, which I think cost 10 euros for an hour.

Unfortunately, there are flies about. The hotel staff told us this is due to the hundreds of greenhouses in Costa De Almeria. I would suggest taking an insect repellent with you, as the flies can be persistent. We were told the flies were 'fruit flies', but I'm not sure what the difference is to a normal fly!!

We hired a car at the resort from Almericar which only cost 41:50 euros for the day (Saxo with a/c). We drove to a quaint village called Nijar, where the locals make and paint the ceramics in front of you. We also went to Mojacar, which is nice enough. Another nice place is Aguadulce, but not if you're 25+ as it's very much a young persons place! In the evening we drove to Almerimar, which is a port/resort and nice to walk around.

We also caught the bus to Almeria. The bus stop is outside the Golf Trindad hotel, and it takes about an hour to get there. In Almeria the castle and cathedral is worth visiting. It's only two euros entrance fee to get into the cathedral, and it's free entry to the castle.

We decided to walk into Roquetas one day, and we went to the castle there, which was ok. From Roquetas we decided to walk to the Gran Plaza shopping center. I would not recommend this... as we walked & walked & walked...! It was further away than we realised, but we eventually got there! If you really want to go to the Gran Plaza, I'd recommend getting the bus or a taxi. We got a taxi from there to our hotel and that only cost 7:50 euros.

It was an excellent holiday that we thoroughly enjoyed, and we will without a doubt return to this hotel again, hopefully July next year.
