We had a last minute package where the accommodation is allocated on arrival. The Albir Gardens is a long walk to a stony beach (at least 20 mins) and about 30 mins drive to Benidorm.
We had three complaints:
1 My husband got food poisoning on the last but one day of the holiday, after eating from the buffet style evening meal. He was really ill and is currently off work.
2 The towels in the apartments are changed only twice a week and with the hot weather you probably need a shower twice a day so the changes weren't frequent enough.
3 After the evening entertainment stopped the partying would start on the various balconies. It was a choice between keeping the windows shut and frying or opening the windows and not being able to sleep because of the noise.

The Albir Gardens is an excellent family hotel, albeit a little distant from the centre of Albir which is a pleasant 15 minute stroll away.
The AB is a large complex with good facilities, although the indoor pool, cinema, and gym look like they've been out of action for a number of years. There's a pool bar, pool snack bar, sunbeds to spare and two very good swimming pools with a lifeguard constantly on patrol. One large pool is completely at 1 metre deep and therefore as safe as can be for kids.
We traveled with our eight year old daughter and found the evening entertainment to be aimed firmly at the family audience, running from 9 till midnight every day.
The hotel staff were also excellent (and never seemed to go home) most speaking perfect English, there's also an English lady who works on the reception desk.
On the negative side the apartments are becoming a little tired looking; clean enough, just in need of updating. That said, the couple staying in the apartment above us were more than happy with their rooms, so maybe it just depends which rooms you are allocated.
The number 10 bus stops outside the apartment and is an absolute must for anyone

The Apartments were situated close to all amenities. They were clean and spacious with plenty of storage. The kitchen was well equipped. The swimming pools were nice and clean with a choice of depths and size. The entertainment although noisy was funny (the only downside was speaking in Spanish and then English). We had a lovely 2 weeks here and although we will go somewhere else next year, I would thoroughly recommend the Albir Garden Apartments.

Just back from the Albir Gardens this was the best holiday ever. Our kids never stopped the pool is brilliant the kids had entertainment most days with the reps there, when we could get them away from pool.If you want to be away from the hussle and bussle of Benidorm this is for you.All the staff there are very friendly and helpful. Also entertainment in the evening and it finishes at midnight so it is quiet after that.Albir itself is alovely but small and qaint.Benidorm itself is only 5 mins in a taxi or take the local bus the bus stop is just outside the apartments. We will return wish i was there now....

I have just returned from a one weeks holiday at the Albir Garden and thoroughly enjoyed it. The place was very clean and you didn't have to pay a deposit for your room (in case of any damage).
There is nightly entertainment in the hotel (although I didn't participate) though the families there seemed to enjoy.
Plenty of sun beds (although you have to get there early to position your sun bed exactly where you want it). If you are on a return night flight they have a secure room in the hotel reception area to store your luggage and you can use the showers/changing area when you are ready to get ready to leave.
I would definitely stay at the Albir Garden again.

No faults found apart from only 1 pillow each. The food in the hotel is excellent, pay at the door if on self catering basis, but honestly it's worth it. The entertainment for kids, they're on holiday to, is second to none.
Only 1 gripe the pools don't seem to be cleaned as often as some of the resorts we've been to. I think the company are working on it. Please give it a try. A great place to learn Spanish.
The bar staff are the best I've ever met in Spain they're english is better than mine, I'm a Jock what do expect. Seriously great place to learn Spanish. Look out for Pablo, Jose, Carlos, Paquita and bset of all Gasparre.

ALBIR GARDEN - ALBIR
Stayed here for one week 13 to 20 June 2004 on half board basis.
These one-bedroom apartments are ideal for two people. Also two children on the put u up, but I think it would be a bit of a tight squeeze for 4 adults. There is plenty of cupboard space in the twin bedroom, which is also a fair size. The living room/diner is comfortable with large settee/put u up, TV and dining room furniture. The kitchen is small but adequate and enough utensils etc for 4 people. All the apartments have a nice balcony with table and four chairs. I would class the apartments as better than basic but not luxurious.
The apartments like the grounds, gardens and pool area are well maintained and looked after. Cleaners are everywhere first thing in the morning to keep everything spotless.
The very large pool area is the centre of the whole complex and ideal for all age groups and from what I could see a life guard on duty during opening times. There is also a poolside bar and a snack bar. Plenty of sun loungers and umbrellas. There is also an indoor heated pool only open in the winter, a Gym for the energetic and an Internet room.

We booked a last minute deal and ended up in the Albir Gardens. When we arrived we were very impressed with the accomdation, the pool area was lovely and the rooms were even nicer as we had two balconies and a t.v which we could get BBC !!!
The only problem we had was the food at the hotel, we were half board and only ate there once, as the food was digusting, it would be the same thing every day, and quite often it never looked cooked.
If i was going back I would not book half board as it is a waste of money and the resort is quite cheap to eat out anyway.
