The Costa Blanca's cultural capital offers historical attractions including Santa Barbara Castle while its most famous museum, the Museo de Bellas Artes Gravina is worth a visit. Beaches remain a must and with the province of Alicante fringed by 200 kilometres of coastline, you can take your pick. The city also hosts a number of festivals throughout the year, most notably the Hogueras de San Juan (Bonfires of St John) from June 20 to 24. Rice is very popular in the city meaning every restaurant competes to serve the perfect paella while seafood is also a good bet.

It was the first time we had been to Alicante and we were pleasantly surprised. In general a very clean place which has everything you need,marina/beach/shops/restaurants/bars etc. A friendly relaxed city.
