We stayed in the Esmeralda for 2 weeks may last year. The food was good enough for us breakfast was wide and various (bacon, eggs, bread, yogurt, cereal, cheese and hams oh and the cakes)
Dinner was varied with choices of chicken,pork chops, stews and fish or a salad buffet. The hotel was clean and comfortable but best of all is the location.

The hotel is on the sea front but the road in front of it is narrow and are bus could not get up it so the driver left us at the end of the road and we had to carry are cases about two hundred and fifty meters to the hotel.
Reception is in the basement so you once again have two carry your case down the steps to get in the place. In reception you will find a safe for your passport and things but it small about 75cm by 300cm by 300cm.there are two lifts but only one which goes to the basement and the top floor the second one goes from the first to the six floor only so if you are on the top floor you have to go up the steps. We had two rooms one on the fourth floor overlooking the sea which to me did not have a lot going for it has the balcony was very small and you could only just get two small chairs on it. The second room was on the top floor which was small inside just enough room for two beds but it did have a large balcony overlooking the back street. Meal times are breakfast 8am till 10am evening 8pm till 10pm don`t worry if you miss breakfast it`s the same thing in the evening. We only had one breakfast and one evening meal breakfast it`s bread cheese and spam evening meal was yes you got it bread cheese and spam along with chicken soup and chicken only peas for veg.
It`s called Esmeralda hotel and art all that we found in the way of art was the walls were all colours and it had bits of wood and metal hanging from the walls .
Rating the hotel is a 2 star i would give it nil and that’s on a good day.
