We stayed here for 14 nights, when we arrived we were given a room in the main hotel, & the room was very shabby. We complained as the room was nothing like the picture in the brochure, we were then changed rooms to the newer part which was better.
We were here on half board the restaurant had a horrible smell about it, the food was terrible, so much so that we brought some meals out. The breakfast was not too bad, just the evening meals. The staff in the dining hall were friendly, as was most of the staff in reception.
The pool wasn't very clean it had all bits at the bottom of it, so we did not use that, the pool area was kept clean & washed down every day.
The location was ok we were between the train stations, Santa Susanna was a lovely clean resort, but Malgrat was very dirty with rubbish on the ground. The near by resorts are really nice, so we will come back again, but not to Malgrat or the Hotel Alhambra. The weather was really hot the whole time, which was nice.

Last year was the third time we had stayed in this hotel. The previous times were in 1998 & 1999. On previous visits we had no problems. However on our last visit the standards had slipped. The staff weren't as friendly or helpful as they had been previously. The food standard had fallen and we got the feeling they were trying to cater more for the german market and slowly push out british visitors.
When my wife had an accident on a broken step by the pool the staff didn't seem interested in it.
The hotel location and clenliness were 1st class but the stay wasn't as enjoyable as previous visits.
